Yet...what does it all mean anymore? Last year's best winning teams (Cubs and Angels) were gone before you could say Tyconderoga. It's such a damned crap shoot nowadays in the playoffs.

The first round best of five is a crapshoot. After that the better team usually wins.

Yes, it would be good if the yankees learn that the playoffs are NOT thier RIGHT, they have to work at it and play well enough to get there.
Now let's see if Sabathia and company can do anything once they get there.

I had hoped that the AL Central team would have 90-92 wins at seasons end.

They both fell short by 4 games.

Thank god that embarrassment is over. Now we shall see if the Boston ownership wants to win next year or if they will go try to dust off some dinosaur dirt cheap and tout him as a saviour.
