AL EAST 2009

Who'll be the tougher playoff opponent- the Canes or the Magic?

I'm getting good vibes for the Bruins, but not so much for the Celtics (that means bet the opposite :p).

I know I picked the Celtics in 7, but I think they may be toast. :(

I've been remiss in mentioning this up to this point-

Lowrie feeling 'stronger' already
By: Mike Petraglia
With the stitches out of his surgically repaired left wrist, Jed Lowrie re-joined the Red Sox for rehab work on Wednesday, with the hope of returning to action by the All-Star break. “They told me six-to-eight weeks, that’s what the doctors said,” Lowrie said. “Take it day-by-day, make sure it’s strong. Everything looked good so hopefully, in six-to-eight weeks, I’ll be back out there.” Lowrie said he is feeling stronger after just a week of rehab work out in Arizona. Red Sox manager Terry Francona said Lowrie will work with team trainers and physical therapists over the next week before the club decides the next move. “Everything I’ve heard from the training people I’ve been working with and the doctors is that everything went well and I’ve been doing rehab for seven days now and it’s good to be back,” Lowrie said. Bill's 'Ode To Bay' is looking A-OK

Bill, I decided to dig this up.

What the hey, I guess it's safe to say that the Red Sox adding Jason Bay to the fray, is already making the opposition pay. The day before Mr. Bay got to Fenway, the Sox were ready to send out a Mayday. We understand that you will be eligible for free agency after 2009, so we pray, Mr. Bay, that you stay and help us beat the Yankees and shut up once and for all that obnoxious, Michael Kay. And thank God, Mr. Bay, that you didn't become an A, Ray, or Blue Jay.

I guess he must have read your poem before the two-game series.:D

That ode is looking like good karma!

Aw sh*t. Alvin just hit a bases clearing double and its 3-3. Its a monsoon at Yankee Stadium. If there was a God right now, they would've called the game or the game should have been in a rain delay and maybe Alvin, Simon and Theodore would've have scored!!

LMAO!!! Too funny! :D

BTW, what the hell is going on in NYC with all the rain??!!

Before you know it, you're gonna need an ark to get around!

Final Score: Indians 9, Red Sox 2

Good game, HD and Sky! Your Tribe really took it to the Sox tonight!

Everytime I hear the name Theodore, I think of this guy:

Tex Misses Out on Opportunity to Pop Cherry

Mark Teixeira (aka Alvin), the Yankees high priced free agent acquisition this offseason, missed out on getting a hit with men on base the previous 19 times.

Last night, Tex broke that streak by tying the game against the Rays in the 8th inning with a 3 RBI double. The game went to extra innings and Tex came up again with another perfect scenario. With a runner on 3rd and only 1 out, Tex stranded the runner with a weak pop-up. Tex missed out on the perfect opportunity to finally "earn" his Yankee stripes.

Alvin was shown on camera repeatedly slamming his helmet in the dugout in a furious manner.

"I've got to get that runner home," Teixeira said. "I tried to hit a fly ball and I popped it up a little bit. Little things."
