That's great news for the Tigers, Jimbo.

Zumaya, as you well know, is a difference maker.

I'm not to sure about this move just yet.
Just the other day there was a report that Zumaya had pitched something like 2 innings and walked 4 hit a guy ..... ect.
If his command is not there, he's wasting a roster spot at this point.
They better NOT send Perry down when he comes to Detroit.

Francona announced that Justin Masterson will take Dice-K's start Monday morning against the Orioles.


I hope this is only temporary (until Dice-K comes off the DL or EITHER Smoltz or Buchholz is ready), because IMO, Masterson is too valuable to the bullpen.

As it is, after tonights performance, you have to wonder about Penny.

Red Sox just tied it up, 8-8 on a Nick Green 2 run double. :up The Sox are still batting.....bottom of the 5th, 2 out, men on second and third.

The Sox were down at one point 7-0.

Buchholz injured a hamstring in a minor league game earlier in the week.

Word earlier today was he is fine, but the Sox don't want to push him into a spot start.

This is the first time in four years I didn't purchase EI, because I found myself watching the Red Sox 99.9999% of the time anyway.

Besides, with MLBN now, they cut into a lot of games at crucial times. :up

I'm doing the same thing.
Watch the Tigers when they are on (10 pm tonight) and watch the Red Sox when I can ....
You use to see them on ESPN all the time, but I guess they only do that when they are playing that team from NY

I have to agree.

Other than the '07 postseason, he hasn't done much. Oh yeah, he has speed, but the last time I checked you have to get on base first.

Cabrera still locked in, he's 2-2 missed a HR by a foot his first AB to right, then singled to LF the second AB.
He's hitting alot like Maglio was a few years back when he lead the league.

That what stinks about ESPN's Baseball coverage. I try to watch Monday Night Baseball or Wednesday Night Baseball or whatever and they have New York or Boston playing so its blacked out. Same for TBS coverage. There are other teams in the MLB last I checked.

HD on Away games

Tigers play Seattle and LA Angels this week on the left coast.
All late games except for Sunday.
NONE of these games are on in HD (FSN D) .

Why is it they have HD available for home games but not road games ?
I can understand not taking thier HD equipment with them, but ...
Can't they not use the home teams feed ?

Is this the case with most other teams too ?

All Red Sox games (home AND away) are HD available.

However, with the Bruins in the playoffs, the Red Sox will be moved to NESN Plus if there's a Bruins/Red Sox conflict.

NESN Plus has an HD channel only on certain providers. I have FiOS, and unfortunately they don't have a NESN Plus HD channel. That means tomorrow night's Red Sox game will only be available in SD for me.

Getting squeezed badly in the 5th, after breezing thru the first 4 innings.

Seattle now leads 5-3, to the 6th.
