AL CENTRAL

Edwin Jackson for the Tigers has given up 2 hits thru 6 and no runs, Tigers lead 1-0 so far.
Jackson has been very good once again.

edit:
Till nowwhen he thru one away at first and ended up with 2nd and 3rd, no one out ....

base hit, Tigers trail 2-1 now, still plenty of time yet.

Zach Greinke Everybody!

Any more questions folks? This kid is on a mission!

Greinke threw his fifth complete game this season en route to beating the Motor City Kitties.

Through 9 innings Greinke gave up 1 single run and actually raised his league leading ERA to 0.84. Folks, this kid has pitched in 10 games so far and has a sub 1.00 ERA! Greinke has allowed only seven earned runs in 75 innings this entire season!

Greinke would be my vote right now.

Haha, yea I am sick of this team having to see this Kid..Any Chance KC will trade him to the Tigers? Or send his ass to the NL?

I guarantee they'll trade him.......................................in the last year of his contract (whenever that is). Baseball needs a salary cap.

Why??

The top three teams in payroll spending in 2008 did not make the playoffs:

NY Yankees—–209,081,577
Detroit—–138,685,197
New York Mets—–138,293,378
Boston—–133,440,037
Chi.White Sox—–121,152,667

The Rays with the 29th payroll beat #4 and #5 to get to the WS.

Since after winning their last WS championship in 2000 through last season, the Yankees have spent over $1.3 billion dollars in player salaries. What has it bought them??

2001 $ 112,287,143
2002 $ 125,928,583
2003 $ 152,749,814
2004 $ 184,193,950
2005 $ 208,306,817
2006 $ 194,663,079
2007 $ 189,639,045
2008 $ 209,081,577
Total $1,376,850,008

While having lots of money to spend obviously makes a team more competitive, it doesn't guarantee achieving the final goal....

Tigers beat Royals 8-3 today and pick up another game on the 2nd place Royals.

Porcello wins 5th straight.
