AL CENTRAL

I was just kidding. Not my kind of sport is what I meant to say. Didn't mean to offend anyone. I like baseball and football. Hockey and basketball bore me.

How can you be bored watching the FASTEST game out there adn being a Detroit fanas well you would think that hockey would be an easy sport for your to follow.

Interesting stat I just came across :

Justin Verlander (3-0, 0.39 ERA since April 27) as the ace, Detroit starters are 8-4, 2.77 in their past 14 games.

This is quite impressive ... now if they ever got a real closer ....

That's what you said about Todd Jones too. See as how both of those guys bring the same excitement to the ninth inning, I'll point out the same thing I did when Todd was here - Rodney hasn't blown a save yet - he's tried awfully hard, though.;)

From the NY Times:

On this day in 2008:Cleveland Indians second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera turned the 14th unassisted triple play in major league history.

Ah. Ancient memories of a better day. What a lovely reminder. I remember this day vividly. As a matter of fact, I posted something about this a year ago today...

Apparently this happened on Game 2 of a day/night double header. What a great day it was!

Game 1 of the double header's in the books!

Tribe: 3- Jays- 0
Carmona pitched another gem. Complete game shutout. 9IP, 5H, 0ER!

1/2 game out of first in the AL Central!

By the time the second game of our double header is over, we could be in sole possession of first place!

Game 2 of the Double header ended up in a tough 3-0, 10 inning loss, although there were a few significant highlights in the game....

*Indians second baseman Asdrubal Cabrera turned the 14th unassisted triple play in major league history!!!!

*Cliff Lee (no decision), pitched 9 scoreless innings and lowered his league leading ERA to 0.67!!!!

Bad time for a start from the "D-Train". We really need a win tonight, since we lost last night.

Don't know what Leyland said to Galarraga last night, but his pitching sure got better after that. Perry was impressive last night in long relief. No clutch hitting in a game where a couple of well timed hits could have won the game.

Rod Allen dumb comment of the game: (paraphrasing) "Saw some of the players this morning, getting some breakfast. I guess they know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day."

Did they order Wheaties Rod? This guy is the most annoying announcer I've ever heard. Even more so when the Tigers are losing.

LOL! I am so amazed that he goit a job after the DBacks tossed him. He is an absolute mess and has not improved.

BTW, you may not know this, but once upon a time before their WS Championship, Impemba was Angels radio PBP and his color guy was Daron Sutton (now of the DBacks formerly of the Brewers TV booth). To me, they were the finest pairing of two guys in a booth EVER! Great voices and tons of fun to listen to.

I love Impemba, but Rod Allen talks like he had a 15 year career in the majors. If I read right, I think his career was about as long as a cup of coffee in the "show". I swear, someday's he just makes stuff up. To his credit, he does anticipate moves pretty well, but some of his talk about the mechanics of the game are just plain ridiculous. which would of course explain his short career. My wife thinks even less of him, if that is even possible.

My brother compared Rod to Brian Fellows. Its from an SNL sketch. He's a retarded and severely schizophrenic guy (played by Tracy Morgan) with a 6th grade education who loves animals with a talk show in which people bring in their animals and then he says completely off the wall stuff like "you bird sure has a big beak". Hilarious!

OK, who actually PLAYS sports?

Shaq once had a video game of his own- a fighting game!
