So far, this IS who he is, Jeckel and Hyde .... With Max Scherzer as his partner, these two swapping positions time to time.

So far in Porcello's career he's been given a pass, he's not the Top pitcher, so the pressure isn't on him.
The excuse has been "He's Young", he did start very early, Tigers rushed him up back when they had no one else to go to.

He IS young, just 23, seems like he's been in the rotation forever, however this is his 4th year, seems like you should have consistency of some sort by now.

So, as you said, maybe THIS is who he is, always to be inconsistent and baffling.

Was reading a article in the paper this morning on his performance yesterday, forgot he's is 23 as well. He was brought up pretty early in his career

I sweep would be great, two out of three was my hope.

I have the feeling we're going to have a football score this afternoon. The Tigers are going with rookie Turner who got rocked in his appearances, and the ChiSox are Humber who has an almost 6-run ERA. Plus, neither bullpen has been impressive this season. I'm going with the Tigers winning 13-10 simply because they have been hitting the snot out of the ball. We shall see...

That's true, but Verlander was brought up at the same age. Although he had an outstanding 2nd season, it was because he was such a hard thrower and not due to his pitching. He didn't learn to pitch, IMO, until his 4th season. Regardless, I thought more of Verlander's pitching skills and work ethic would have rubbed off on Ricky? I would love to see Verlander, Fister, Scherzer and Porcello all have career seasons next year...four 20-game winners. :)

The Tigers are 3rd in Batting Average, 4th in On Base Percentage, but 9th in both Runs and Slugging Percentage. I would like to get a little more pop (HRs) from the bottom on the lineup (Young, Peralta and Boesch).

Yea while I think it's moved up a bit they were on pace at one time to hit the lowest amount of home runs for a season, below the 119 loss season!

Turner did shut down a pretty good Cardinal team just before the AS break.

However, I think your right, it could be a football score ..... can Stafford and Megatron play for them today ? :D

Would have to take a look at today's lineup, Sunday's usually are a rest day for tiger regulars

You better go to Vegas NOW on that one ....
I don't see it. :(

Tigers need to go out and get a solid #2 pitcher at the trade deadline .... or I would like to see them do that I should say.

I think Verlander and Fister are reliable, the rest are a wait and see ...

We're always going to be at a disadvantage due to playing at spacious Comerica Park...however, until recently, there is no doubt Young, Avila, Peralta and Boesch have not produced. Of course, there is plenty of time to catch up on the HRs and extra base hits. :)

Tigers going after Shields and Dempster (pitchers). I read where the White Sox picked-up Brett Myers from Houston. It should be interesting to see which teams that "missing ingredient" to propel them into the playoffs.

I'd rather have Dempster than Shields, Shields is very inconsistent, have also heard that Dempster wants to stay in the NL.

Miguel Cabrera hits his 2nd HR today, a moonshot to dead Center field in Comerica Park his #300th !!!

Tigers up 4-1

Update, Boesch just hit one out making it 6-1

And the Tigs are rolling both with the bat and pitching. They are finally playing like the team everyone thought they could be this year.
