Scherzer takes mound this evening. Max can shutdown a team when he sets his mind to it, but he has been known to throw batting practice far too often for my liking. Hopefully Verlander, Fister, and even the youngsters who are dong well, can help Max focus on his pitching.

Yeah, the Tigers got another good pitching performance from a youngster last night! :)

Yes they did !

When Smyly got hit, I thought oh no, had he had to come out of the game, that would mean BOTH of thier rookies in the Starting rotation would, have been lost in a game they started.

Remember Wilk got hit by a shot to the dugout by Prince earlier in the week.

Smyly shook it off and continued to pitch very well. :)

I think Max will get it going, he's been kinda trying to do as well as or better than the other guy(s) that are doing well in the rotation ...
Mainly Verlander and I would say Fister, but he's really not been there yet ...

I'm thinking KC's guns must be a little hot. Max just came in at 98 and one of their relievers was registering at 103 last night. It's possible but I've never seen that from Scherzer before.

Capps looked like a closer last night as the Twins beat the Yankees 6-4. Faced four batters, threw first pitch strikes to all of them. Made Granderson look bad.

Rough one yesterday for tigers pitching, Smily was in a jam every inning

Tigers get blown out in game one and win game two, 3-2

Verlander pitched another solid game against an outstanding opponent last night. He could possess a 4-0 record right now with just a little luck. Anyway, the Rangers are the most complete team in baseball, so this series is a great test for the Tigers. I like Smyly and hope that can he can quickly develop into a solid addition to the starting rotation to complement Verlander and Fister. I'm sorry, but it appears that Scherzer and Porcello will forever continue to a "Mystery Date" on the Tigers rotation (i.e., will they be a Dream or a Dud?). Right now Smily is doing a good job against the Rangers as we're down 1-0 after 2-1/2 innings. Oh, and Santiago led off with a triple!

Finally, we need Fister back in the starting rotation...soon!

Crap! Why are we having a double-A pitching throwing in the 11th inning? We also started AA-AAA pitchers in two of the four games against Texas. Experiment against the scrubs...and not the Rangers. We game this away and wasted a solid pitching performance by Smyly. :(

Did I just hear correctly? The Indians announcers just said they are loving the West Coast trip because when the are scheduled to play on Tuesday night @ the Jake there is a severe Winter Storm Warning calling for snowfall of 20 inches!!!!!

I heard 12", but I'm not there either.

Tigers haven't hit enough of late, but today was a BAD way to lose a game, Rangers score winning run on a ball that was clearly foul. :(
