Tigers attempting to GIVE this series away ...
IF the line up they just showed is true, Brandon Inge is going to DH for them today.

UGH

It was in the paper locally a few days ago, he says play me at any position...I say fine lets see you at catcher, see what he says I am sorry he's turned into quite the a** of late. Might as well put him down for 0-4 with two k, it will be faster that way

Clete Thomas just went deep for the Twins in his second AB. His first plate appearance was a deep fly caught at the base of te wall.

Fwiw, Inge was 0-2 with a K, got pulled for a pinch hitter (Brennan Boesch) in the 6th.

Twins up 7-3 over the Yankees in the bottom of the eighth with one on and two out. I hate the hate innings against the Yankees.

J. Verlander finally Wins one going 9, but the 9th was tense, with the Royals scoring once and leaving the bases loaded to end it.

I think Verlander is over throwing in the ninth, kinda odd seeing he cruised thru most of the game.

He threw a lot of pitches in the 9th and had at last check 13 over 95mph and hit 100 at least 5 times in the 9th.

Yeah that's the same exact thing I said after he lost to the Rays. He is getting to the 9th and deciding to just try to blow everyone away with 100mph fast balls. When he tried it against the Rays they barely made contact but he supplied all the power and they simply slapped the ball out of the infield.

Last night the Royals couldn't make contact in the 9th but him just throwing as hard as he could caused him to be a little wild. In the end it was another great performance for a complete game. I hope to see many more of those this year from him. I'm fine with him throwing those 100mph fastballs late in the game as long as he continues to mix in that great curve ball and change up as well. Both chances he has had in the 9th this year he basically just said here it is, hit it if you can catch up to it and he abandoned everything else.
