AL Central 2010

By the way those rookies are a few years away from being what you think they might..Boesh, Jackson, nodoubt will be good players..Sizemore?Not sure, Avila? A reach..I know Boech will be a bigger help if he stops swinging at everything.

Tigers are BETTER than your giving credit for.
They have more than ONE stand out player.

J. Verlander for One EVERY TEAM would love to have him.

Cabrera is another one that EVERY team would covet.

Magglio has been steller this year, very good arm, better than avg in the field and hitting .318 with 7 HR (more than usual, he's not a HR hitter) and 32 rbi's

There's three off the top of my head.

Didn't say we didnt have talent..I think the reporters in this town are too friggin nice to this team though..MAgs???? Is he worth 18 mILLION? 15 next? Very good arm? from right? Average arm at best. Stating the obvious about Cabrera and Verlander aren't you? You think I was saying they are talented? Sure they are. We cannot ride two guys to a division title,,and our offense is pathetic. You want to see talent at the plate watch the Twins..They are the class of the division hands down..Even with the staff they have.

Trust me I pay attention, and I think you kind of just agreed with me. My message was to those who get mad and think this team will be in it at the end of this year. I disagree on the talent level in the system..Player position wise anyway..We some, but most of it is over rated in my opnion. My issues are with the money wasted on guys like Magglio, Willis, Inge,etc.etc., hell even Guillen..

Willis money is now GONE.
Nothing wrong with Maggs THIS year, he's hitting again
Inge, what kind of contract does he have ?
Guillen, if they leave him at 2B I think this is a VERY good move for the Tigers.

The biggest issue was the stupid contract they gave to Willis before he even pitched an inning, 27 M wasted.

Maggs contract was a bad one because of the way it was written.
If they can resign him for a cheaper contract it's all good.

4 new guys in the line up, I think they are doing fine.
The do need more consistancy though.

Doesn't matter how it was written, he is getting 18 million, and 15 million, and like so many others that have come through here over the last 3 years he is robbing them blind..Sorry, I like him but for that money..Not interested

A guy hitting .330 is NOT swinging at everything, that said, he hasn't drawn many walks, but I'd rather see the Big guy hit.

Your call bud, your the one that said they only have ONE good player.

Maggs has a better than avg arm actually very good arm.
The contract as I already mentioned needs to be adjusted.

Did I ever say the Twins didn't have a better offense ?

The Tigers 7,8. and 9 hitters are terrible, but they are good in the field.

Oh he swings at everything..Which is why all he is seeing is Stuff in the dirt now. He can't leave it alone..He is hitting 330 but last week that was 380 and he has not played this weekend so..Until he lays off that stuff and starts taking more he will do more of what he has done this past week, ground balls and strike outs..Look at his line since his first 2 weeks..

You are failing to remember ONE thing ...........
If Mr. I didn't go ahead and pay these contracts to these, they definately would NOT HAVE COME TO DETROIT.

BTW, are you paying attention to what the Tigers and Scherzer are doing today ?

Thru 5, Schurzer had 12 K's.
Now he's up to 14K's, I think going into the 6th.

edit:
Looks like Scherzer is done for the day with 14 K's gave up 2 hits and NO runs.

I think he found his INTENSITY that he talked about at the end of spring training today.

fwiw, he's at 113 pitches is why he's out now.

I assumed We were talking Offense..The pitchers go with out saying I thought

Inge makes great plays, and has great range but he also leads that spot in errors over the past 3 seasons..I love him, but he is not a great defender and his offense speaks for itself..I wont cry if he gets no offer from the Tigers in the off season. Laird cant throw anyone out anymore, sohis 150 average cannot be overlooked, and the sad part is we have no prospects except for Avila, and well, I dont think he is that talented. Everett is as advertised, cant hit, but sure as hell can pick it with the best of them. but can we afford that anymore..We have 200 hitters at catcher,3rd and SS.NOT GOOD..

I am not failing to remember anything, they were bad contracts then and still are..Only now they are hindering this team. I dont care about the reason why. Why is it you can only tell me what I fail to see??

Ill just end it before it gets stupid..GO TIGERS!!!

So your obviously giving up on the Tigers this year and the rookies as well.

Nice talkin to ya

Never expected them to win the division anyway, so what am I giving up on? I watch every game, but I at least see what is there and know what is not going to happen..I refuse to drink the koolaid the media in this town tries to sell..

Open your eyes guy .....

I said at the beginning of the season that it would come down to the Tigers and the Twin with it probably going to the last week /end and thats what I expect to happen.

You keep saying that they won't win the division, thats the EASY call.
Anyone can come in and take the field.......

Nice game Ice,
Twins will win tonight and keep the Tigers at bay.

Tigers won big with Scherzer having 14k's and 10 run prodution.

Twins leading late 6-3.

Tigers still 3.5 GB

Outlook :
Tigers finish up with Oakland Monday
Tigers play host to the Indians for 3 and KC next weekend

Twins go to Seattle for 4 and Oakland after that.

The same trip the Tigers just finished.

Tigers bring back Max Scherzer from AAA Toledo (will pitch tomorrow)
Option Dontrelle Willis to Toledo and they have 10 days to trade him, or then he will be released.

Q. Why would anyone trade for him if he'll be available to everyone in 10 days ?
Scherzer pitched a great game today. My brother told me about Willis being released this evening...I also jumped for joy. Willis may be a good guy, but he was absolutely killing us.

Hopefully this is the Scherzer we see the rest of the year.
The intensity was evident.

I keep forgetting that he's still a very young guy, only 25.
Then I thought we had our # 2 last year and traded him .... Edwin Jackson.
fwiw, Jackson has struggled all year, he's 3-6 6.03 era.

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN

Don't look now, but Steve Lavin is making St. John's relevant again
