While your Twins are beating the Brew Crew ;)

Porcello goes tomorrow for the Tigers ...
At least the Dodgers will see 1 of our top pitchers on this trip.
Somehow they caught the bottom end of the rotation.

Porcello is our # 2 guy tomorrow, maybe they won't fall out of the game by the 4th inning ....

J. Verlander goes against Seattle next.

All I know is if this isnt baseball heaven I dont know what the heck is ;)

I was too young to remember Met Stadium and all those years in the dome make this worth while :)

nah went to Miller Park a couple years ago :)

But yeah this place rocks. And I got to eat something that when I heard about it I was determined to have one

Tony O's Cuban Sandwich

Tony O's Cuban Sandwiches, jointly developed by Tony Oliva, the Twins and Sportservice, will be served at two concessions carts at Target Field. The sandwiches feature ham and roasted pulled pork with Swiss cheese and other ingredients on Cuban bread.

damn it was tasty :)

goofy question. Why didnt the Tigers move the flagpole from Tiger Stadium to Comerica?

The Twins were able to move the flagpole from Met stadium to Target Field. A American Legion owned the flagpole during the Dome years ;)

I saw Killebrew and Oliva play at the met with my grandfather. It was great, but I don't think they designed that generation of stadiums as much with the fan experience in mind.

Blame the schedulers AND interleague play. ;)

Only way to avoid that, would be to eliminate IL ball all together. (which would be fine with me)

I don't think that would change as long as the current Commish is in there.

I agree with both points. At the very least, teams in the same division should play equivalent interleague schedules to maintain divisional competitive balance. Still screws up the competition for the wild cards, but you can't have everything.

wah wah cry me a river Tommy

By the way.....funny how the Tigers play more "cellar dwellers" in IL...looks like a cupcake IL schedule after the Dodgers

Rest of Twins IL schedule and where they are right now
Braves..2nd
Rockies..4th
Phillies..1st
Mets..5th
Brewers..5th

Tigers
Pirates..4th
Nats..4th
D-Backs..5th
Mets..5th
Braves..2nd

The whole problem started in 1978 when the tigers sold tiger stadium to the city of Detroit for $1

So the flagpole is owed by the city and not the tigers

The plan was to move the flagpole, but when the time came to do it, the city got wrapped up in politics and red tape and wouldn't allow it to be removed

It's just sad because there where multiple things that could have taken place at tiger stadium and the city kept on saying no. My good friend Peter Riley back around 2002 offered the city free security and maintaince which would have saved 400,000 a year and the city turned him away

Twins lose 4-3 in a wacky game

Corey Hart is in the books as the 1st guy to hit the 3rd deck at Target Field (row 1 but hey its the 3rd deck)

Kinda weird to see Thome PH for Brendan Harris in the 9th....walk...then gets lifted for PR KEVIN SLOWEY (yes, yesterdays starting pitcher).....which frankly didnt make sense. That had the bases loaded. The run on 2nd would win the game, not on 1st. The Twins already depleted the roster with moves earlier so had it gone to extras Kubel had to be put in the field and leave his DH position so the pitcher would have to bat anyways. Thome was last guy on bench.. Is Thome really that slow or hurt?

They had a pitcher pinch run? Didn't know that was allowed in an AL home game. Soooo, he would've had to bat too if they didn't untie it??? That'd be a first...

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN

Don't look now, but Steve Lavin is making St. John's relevant again
