AL Central 2010

WOO HOO!

Twins win 7-6 in Walkoff fashion (1st time this year)

5-5 after 9
WS gets the lead in 10th
Young on 1st and Thome up and he CRUSHED one to right field onto the plaza for a walk off HR :)

4 games up

Not what you want to see from your closer, but exactly what you want to see from your paid assassin. The excitement Thome showed on the post game showed how much he likes being a Twin.

yep. And the fact he wanted to go back to Chicago at the beginning of the year and they said NO makes it even better

Heck thats the fastest I've seen him run this year :)

Twins win in dramatic fashion
#4 is coming back
ahh life is good (for today at least)

He ran pretty hard (not fast) trying to score from first earlier in the game! I never disliked Thome, even when he consistently killed the Twins with the Indians and the White Sox. He just seemed a class act. It seems he's a good clubhouse guy/team mate.

Thome is a great guy, wanted him to get his World Series with the Dodgers last year. I know why Sox didn't want him back and I'm OK with it. Figured when he signs with Twins this would happen once, just sucks it was last night. Good game to watch, tough one to lose. First walkoff hit @ Target Field according to the Twins announcers

What's with this Circle Me stuff?

Circle Me Bert is Bert Blyleven's gimmick. He's been doing this for 5-6 years now. It started when Bert would circle a fan's sign that said like "Its my Birthday" or "I drove from __________________ to see the Twins" and then folks started with signs that plainly said "Circle Me Bert"

Now you can win prizes if you're circled :)

from wiki
Circle Me, Bert is a popular sign raised by fans of the Minnesota Twins. Fans hope that broadcaster Bert Blyleven will spot their sign and circle them on television with his telestrator.

Use of Bert's "Circle Machine" is an honor rarely extended to his broadcast partner Dick Bremer. Blyleven did allow Bremer to use the telestrator on August 5, 2006. "For heaven's sake, let me circle my daughter," Dick pleaded. Blyleven then permitted Bremer to circle his daughter, who was in the crowd at the Kansas City Royals' Kauffman Stadium. Again, on August 16, 2006, Blyleven permitted Bremer to use the Circle Machine, but was less than thrilled when Bremer drew a peanut shape around a fan's head. Fans have responded to these sorts of incidents by creating new signs for Bremer involving other shapes, including "Triangle Me, Dick" and "Square Me, Dick."

Starting in 2005, fans who are circled have a chance to win $100 in Minnesota State Lottery tickets as part of the promotion called Winner's Circle.

Carlos Guillen on the DL for the Tigers for 2-3 weeks after a very late slide by yankee Gardner the other night trying to break up what was a game ending DP.

Gardner hit by pitch by Bonderman on first pitch tonight, but nothing bad, hit him below the knee.

Next two hitters hit HR's and Tigers trail 3-0

I can't stop hoping for a comback...

Well said. Spoken as a true fan. You are, however, going to have to stomach further Twins banter. ;)

Pierre just made a very nice catch on JJ Hardy, but it still resulted in a Twins run. 7-5, bottom of six, man on first, one down.

Twins win 7-6. Despite poor pitching by the starters and the closer, they have clinched the series. Tomorrow, they go for the sweep!

Tomorrow its Buerhle & Mr Pornstache.....so dont turn the game or you might miss it ;)
The last time these two faced each other it was 1:53 game :)

Twins just have the Sox number head to head, have for a while now. Not a must win game today, but will make it tougher to come back from 6 down. & Mr Jim, at least the SOx are battling every game, not like your Tiggers who have pretty much rolled over. Keep hoping and enjoy 3rd place.

I feel the same way about the Sox, they have had the Tigers number for years.

4th place is only 7 GB, could be a possibility

WEEI's Dennis and Callahan to be simulcast live on NESN

Don't look now, but Steve Lavin is making St. John's relevant again
