722 OTA Software Crash

About 4 times the last several weeks including once with version 6.13, my OTA channels have disappeared with the symptoms being black screen, no audio and zero signal strength. The satellite reception continues normally. A front panel reset restores OTA reception. Dish tech service has not responded.

Is that for all OTA channels or just certain ones? Locally I find WKBW-Channel 7 (Buffalo) and its sub channels disappears at times.

Multipath problems will cause 622/722 to crash. Make sure the signal strength is rock steady.

All the OTA stations were lost. I receive most of them from 60 miles away with a commercial airport in between so multipath is unavoidable. Signals for two of the six are weak and variable. The CBS and PBS stations are transmitting with low power and they are the weakest. I have the best antenna and preamp(CHM 4228A and 7222). PBS (20 KW) signal strength is 60+/- so it drops out. CBS (50 KW) is about 75 and has the most multipath. The rest are 90 to 100.

Try taking the amp off. Worked for me... Or try the antanna in my .sig.
