Urban heading to USC, or is May just blowing smoke?

May: Urban's Job At Fox First Step On Path To USC
You DO KNOW that Mark May is an Ohio State HATER, right ?

I wouldn't believe anything he has to say.
He just wants to throw that out there and IF he's right, he's a Big deal.

There has been speculation about Urban and USC for a few months now ...

Hell, just earlier in the week people were asking him about if he would coach TTUN ...

Urban said "NO, Thats not going to happen"

Urban will be talked about for most every Big school that is potentially needing a coach.

Just like if Saban or Dabo were available.

Well, going into the 2nd half we have some interesting games going on ...

Clemson struggling with North Carolina ... Tied in the middle of the 3rd at 14.

Notre Dame trails Virginia 17-14 in the 3rd.

Dumb call by North Carolina Coach ... they go down and score with 1:45 to go in the 4th to tie it with an extra point at 21.
It might have been different had there only been like less than 30 second where Clemson wouldn't have much time to get down the field.

They decide to go for 2 and don't get it, so they end up losing 21-20, when they could have at least tied the game up and gave your defense a chance to keep Clemson out of FG range with 1:45 to go.

Your D had played well all day coach, what were you thinking ?

New coaches poll is out. Bama jumps Clemson, who falls to #2

Followed by UGA, Oklahoma, and OSU.
With LSU, Auburn, Florida, Wisconsin, and ND rounding out the top 10.

The AP shows different ...

1. Bama
2. Clemson
3. Georgia
4. Ohio State
5. LSU
6. Oklahoma
7. Auburn

9. Notre Dame
10. Florida

Really not sure why Florida is ranked in the top 10 .... they are like the answer to What team doesn't belong ....
Next couple weeks will show that.

Then again .... these polls mean nothing.

Really not sure why Florida is ranked in the top 10 .... they are like the answer to What team doesn't belong ....
Next couple weeks will show that.

Then again .... these polls mean nothing.
I don’t disagree , but who would you rank above Florida at this point ? And why ?

Wisconsin for sure ... 1 poll has them behind Florida.

I'd also put ND ahead of them.
The argument can be made for Wisconsin. The did beat Michigan. Although I’m not sure how much of a big win that is at this point.

ND, no. I can’t agree with that.

Really, you think Florida would have a prayer against Georgia or ND ?
Why would ND be ranked above Fl?

And I made the argument for Wisconsin for you, but what’s you’re thinking there too?

why is Florida over rated compared to those two to you ?

A lot of this top ten will clear itself out. Half of it is SEC and they all play each other. Or at least play a one of the also ranked.

Should look different in a few weeks.

Over all I just don't feel they are able to beat ANY of the top teams ...
I have not been impressed with them this year ... that said, I also haven't watched all thier games.

I would be shocked if they beat Auburn, LSU or Georgia in the next month.

While I agree with you, when most SEC teams knock one another off they move a few spots, so alot of it will continue to be right up there with a loss, depending who it is.

Bama won't have an opportunity to lose till November (LSU) and you know IF LSU were to win that one, Bama would still be in the top 4.
Same goes for Clemson ... Clemson should have lost this past weekend or at LEAST went to OT. with North Carolina.

I think Trevor Lawrence has been reading his own press clippings .

Now if Georgia should lose a game they will drop to about 7, that would keep them in the hunt.

If the Buckeyes lose, (depending who they would lose to,) would drop to around 10.
Wisconsin, Penn State or Northwestern are the only ones I see capable of beating them on the schedule at the moment.

The Wisconsin game should be a GREAT GAME.
Northwestern is always tricky, you just never know what your gonna get against them.

After 4 weeks I'll do my top 10, no conference bias inserted into opinion. I think Auburn is the best in the SEC week #4.... #9 and #10 are hardest positions to fill with several other teams not included deserving like Florida, UCF, Boise State, Wake, Texas etc.

1. Ohio State
2. Oklahoma
3. Auburn
4. Clemson
5. Alabama
6. Georgia
7. LSU
8. Wisconsin
9. Notre Dame
10. Penn State

Just on overall athleticism of the team performing at such a high level. If their skill positions improve throughout the season they will be a contender. The one loss came against a tough Pitt team by 1 point on the road and should have won the game. They thoroughly embarrassed a Stanford team who was an early-season favorite in Pac12.
