ACC should buy the SEC. SEC only has one team that can win anything and ACC has two! And then there is basketball 
Which two? Only one has won a title in the 10 years, where the SEC has had 4 different national title winners. You must have hated the '85 Bears, seeing how they won everything using defense.
While offense may get you style points, defense still wins championships.
LOL, I fully understand what Defense wins, but you can have an entertaining Offense AND a top 10 Defense. It is something accomplished all the time in college. If I wanted to watch 3-4 hours of back and forth with little to no result, Id watch Soccer. And I was 8 in 85, I could have cared less about Da Bears.
If you go back over S&P defense, other than 2014 when we had a bunch of lazy and selfish players, the FSU D is up there in ranking every year. Ended up #1 in 2013, and you know the result. That team was also one of the highest scoring in college football history.

Florida is a prime example of a team with a top 10 D every year, that can't win their own division. Why? No offense.
In the BCS game, it was total defensive domination by Bama, however the Bama offense did move the ball fairly well. They just could not punch it in until late in the game. They did finish the game with close to 400 yards, and held LSU to under 100 total.
Now the regular season matchup, THAT was a defensive masterpiece. One that I found as exciting as any 60 point video game style scorefest.

Looks like the ACC could move to 9 conf games Friday with a vote. Not happy about that, I much prefer the 8 game conf schedule + Florida + another OOC opponent like Ole Miss.
I think the basketball schools are pushing this crap.
Saban has pushed it for the SEC and has been in the minority, but I think they will be next. A 9 game SEC schedule is more appealing though than a 9 game ACC schedule. Seeing Pitt, Virgina, Duke, every few years lacks skirt blowing power, vs an OOC P5 opponent in a neutral site game. Neutral site games also bring in more $$$ than home games anyways.
On the flip side, do you keep 9 conf games, and 2 OOC P5 games and one patsy? How does that help your playoff run if you come out with 2 losses when other teams still schedule two patsys?

I acutally prefer them to go to 9 games (should have before when the season went from 11 to 12 games).
Unfortunately the Notre Dame game messes with schools schedules every 3 years, leaving the 4 schools with a perm. SEC opponent only 1 free game to schedule those years.
Only way I can see a 9-game schedule working, is if they count the Notre Dame game as a conference game.
If the ACC goes to 9 games, the SEC will be pressured to do the same, as all the other conferences have already done it.
Looks like the ESPN contract to start up the ACC Network is what's pushing this.

I know, but the 8+2 is a better option. Here is what happens with the schools that actually care about football:
You go from (FSU 8+2 model) 8 ACC, FU and 1 OOC P5 neutral site game and 2 gimmies to 9 ACC, FU, and 2 gimmies. So what I get as a ticket buying fan is I lose my OOC game against Ole Miss, and get UVA or some crap. I am a fan of getting out of the conference playing other teams, 9 games will make this worse.
The 9 game requirement benefits the majority of the ACC schools (see basketball schools), so they dont have to go out an schedule another P5 opponent. If all the ACC teams would get off their butt and schedule 2 interesting P5 opponents every year, this would not matter.it also hurts the teams that already schedule an OOC P5 rivalry every year like FSU and GT.
I'm actually a fan of saying if you are a P5 school, your entire 12 game schedule will consist of P5 schools. That may mean some 9-3 playoff teams, but the season would be a helluva lot better if we have 9 conference games and 3 ooc P5 games.

GT, FSU, Lousiville, and Clempson are halfway there, but it's a hard hurdle for the other schools, especally since only the SEC has a P5 mandate, and that's only for 1 game. And there's no way ESPN can dictate to the SEC they add another.
What they should do, is go to a 9-game schedule and team with the SEC and have the other 10 schools play a rotating set of opponents from the SEC to fill a slot for everyone except (UF/FSU, UGA/GT, UK/UL, and USCe/Clemp). It benefits the SEC as it gives their other 10 teams a P5 (ACC) game as well.

Man.. my Bristol ticket cost me $155 - I think basic tickets were $100 and I'm told we should be pretty close to 50yard line and pretty close to the track from seating standpoint.
