Bama's QB is on the list for Heisman which was odd...but here is a comparison as of yesterday.

Numbers don't necessarily mean your the best QB .... if you throw a bunch of shuttle passes and throws behind the line of scrimage, that will make your completion % out of wack.
11 and 12 Turn overs in 12 games in a LOT. (don't know if those are all interceptions or not.)

Hurts should be nowhere near the Heisman discussion. Kid is good, may even be great, but he isn't that good. Yet.

Too turnover prone at this point. Mainly fumbles from scrambling, although he is good for a pic now and again.

His biggest strength is his ability to not be rattled. I'm comfortable with him, but he needs to protect the ball better. We haven't played anyone that it's really benefited, but it could be the game changer against the right opponent.

DVR keeps talking about OSU shouldn't be in there because they didn't win thier Conference (or division for that matter) however hes forgetting that Ohio State does have the better OVERALL record 11-1 vs Penn State at 10-2 ...
The OVER ALL record should be more important in my opinion, when your talking about the playoffs.

I remember many years where Bama, LSU and maybe Auburn/ Ole Miss were the top teams,, they can't all win thier Conference, so DVR is saying that if Bama was on top (I don't remember if they were or not) Auburn and Ole Miss should be out even if they are better than the rest of the country.

I disagree ...

Btw, you may see Michigan in the conversation as well, by the time its all said and done.

As slim to none as it may be, Michigan may have a chance if a few things next week happen. Realistically though it looks like orange bowl

AP has TTUN at #5, behind Washington, ahead of Wisconsin.
A lot would have to happen, true ...
I don't see Clemson losing next week ...
Washington may be interesting.

I was hoping they had USC to play, but its gonna be Colorado ...
I don't know anything about the Buffalos.

Like I said when this started, the conferences are meaningless now. It's an even greater popularity contest now than it was before and the committee will change their mind on what criteria they want every week to get the outcome they want. They've been saying the past 2 seasons that the Conference Championships and the 13th data point are important. If that is so then if Ohio State gets in, it should be no higher than 4th and they shouldn't get in at all if Alabama, Clemson and Washington win their conference title games to remain undefeated and 1 loss teams and the Big Ten title game winner should get the 4 spot.

Who out there is realistically gonna have a shot at upsetting Bama ?
Ohio State, thats who.

Clemson has a possibility if they meet.

Or would you rather just skip the Playoff and give it to Bama ?

I'm gonna agree that OSU has played good these last few weeks, not going to ignore the facts.
Alabama is by far the best team out there to this day so that spot I know they got it right thus far.

I feel that Clemson is going down Saturday... :)

Ohh I'm just saying what ESPN threw up there. I know at least half of those INT's were from tipped balls that should have been caught by the receiver though.

If VT wins this weekend - VT is going to the Orange bowl which they should go to the playoff based on what I said before but yeah that ain't happening this year. A rematch against Michigan from where VT got screwed in the Sugar bowl a few years ago would be nice!

1) VT is not beating Clemson, I get being a homer fan, but you always have delusions of grandeur and end of making yourself mad when it does not come true
2) If VT beats Clemson, they in no way deserve to be in the playoff. It's like saying if Florida beats Bama they deserve to be in. The Coastal is garbage just like the SEC East, and VT lost to TN (who sucks), Cuse (suck) and GT.

Thanks for not saying we suck ;)

Course we did soundly beat VPI, and defeated TWO teams from the "mighty" sec :D

still got out butts kicked by Clempson though...

Yea, doubt things will happen but, as wacky of a college football season, have to keep hope alive lol

Win or lose, I hope the Buckeyes end up playing Bama somewhere down the line.
It's highly likely.

I just can't see OSU being left out, even if they leave the big ten champion out to get them in.

I think the Playoff Committee would like to see Bama and the Buckeyes.

Lets face it, at this point they can pick any of the top 6 and make a argument as to why they chose them.

I just watched on espn (for a few minutes, I know Buckeye hater M. May is on there too) and 2 of the people had OSU dropped to #4 or not in the top 4 ...
smh, I can't imagine them being #2 and Beating #3 and dropping.
They put Clemson at 2, stating that they won this week ... they beat a bad S. Carolina team.

#1 - ya never know - no delusions of grandeur - if they lose then fine they still played in the title game.

#2 - ya never know - but Conf title winners should be the ones playing in the playoff. and YES if Florida would to be Bama then sure they would be a Conf title holder and be in playoff...but remember that the other 3 places are up for grabs as a wildcard being the highest polled from CFP polls so Bama would likely be in also.

The Coastal isn't all that great this year or the last few years - Beamer saw that VT needed a pick me up and its happened. A first year head coach changed that... just like Jimbo did with FSU a few years ago when the Atlantic was garbage and if you don't agree with that you are delusional yourself cause you know its true..at the time Boston College was the only one up top for the Atlantic.

lol give me a break would ya - I pulled for FSU last night they did very well but nope - I'm wanting VT to win Saturday and play in the Orange Bowl.
If it doesn't happen then I'll pull for FSU to win there instead.

I don't think GT sucks...yes they did win that game soundly no complaints there. GT is still a good team they showed up at the end of the season and did good beating Georgia and ole Shane Beamer... glad to see him losing never liked him as a coach.

Conf champs holds and should hold even more water for the play off spot. You said it yourself it should have been 8 teams and this is a good reason to get all upset over it if OSU goes and say Wisc or Penn do not cause it could very well happen!
The perfect solution was 5 conf title holders square off and 3 wild cards based on the CFP polls...solves it all.
