As a former umpire, I didn't see anything that would warrant getting tossed, much less a warning. Being stupid isn't cause for ejection.
Exactly. If anything, the Cardinals may put that in their collective memory banks.
I feel the same about Cabrera getting tossed for looking back at the Ump down the stretch run to the playoffs as well.
Problem was, he did.
Dodgers still need to win tomorrow before I'll make that statement. But it's a step in the right direction.
Tuesday is a HUGE swing game for the Tigers and Red Sox, it's either all tied up, or the Tigers will take a commanding lead.
I don't remember that incident. I do remember one with Pedroia. He was whining (surprise, surprise) about a pitch called a strike, which was right on the edge of the zone. He actually stepped out of the box and complained. He ended up getting a hit on a pitch well out of the zone. As he was running to first, he was looking back at home and yelling at the ump. If I had the dish for that game he would have been gone before he got to first.
Opps, my bad ... for some reason I was thinking they were up 2-1 ...
hopefully I'm just a day ahead !
I've decided to travel back home early tomorrow morning and swipe my nephew's ticket to the Tigers-Sox game Wednesday night. I told him that he needs to tend to his engineering studies and will give him my seats to Michigan-Ohio State, which I probably won't be able to get away for anyhoo. Looking forward to screaming with delight tomorrow night.

I know he's on your team and all, but he must be difficult to root for. He's not much of a team mate.
I'm probably not going to be posting here much tonight. I'm recording the game and going into bubble mode until I get caught up. I won't be able to get home from work until about 5:30 so the game might be over before I catch up.
I'm turning off the iPhone at 3:55, no iPad, no internet, no radio etc... Even with all that I'm putting my chances of someone ruining it for me at 50 50. Anyways, we are looking at a rainy afternoon/evening in the Detroit area tonight. There is a chance that the game will be delayed to the point where I'm not even behind. Hopefully they are able to get it in without too much trouble.
