2011 MLB Playoffs

Game 1 of Yankees/Tigers has been postponed. Game 1 will resume tomrorrow at the same time that Game 2 was going to start. It will also resume in the bottom of the 2nd inning.

Aside note, when they threw it to Tom Verducci interviewing Joe Torre, I believe David Wells went "AHHHHHH". I think there is bad blood between Wells and Torre.

Also, Game 2 will be Sunday at 3:07 pm so there will be no off day.

I know that Torre is a very overrated manager. I was one of the few that did not like the Dodgers picking him up. I wish they kept Grady Little. Heck, I wish they kept Jim Tracy.

I do like Mattingly though

This really sucks with the two aces being pushed back.

I think Don Darling is dead on.......Fister and Nova will pick up the suspended game tomorrow, and Verlander-Sabathia will start Game 2 Sunday afternoon. With now no off day for travel, you could hypothetically bring back the two aces on three days rest for a potential Game 5 next Thursday night.

Saturday's Pitching Schedule
Diamondbacks (Kennedy) at Brewers (Gallardo)- GAME 1- 2:07pm ET (TBS)
Cardinals (Lohse) at Phillies (Halladay-GAME 1- 5:07pm ET (TBS)
Rays (Shields) at Rangers (Holland)- GAME 3- 7:07pmET (TNT) Rays lead series 1-0
Tigers (Fister) at Yankees (Nova)-GAME 1- 8:37pm ET

ESPN just reported that Leyland is going with his original plan.
Verlander game 1, washed out
2. Fister
3. Scherzer
4. Porcello
5. Verlander

The yankees say Sabathia will go on Sunday and everything else is up in the air.

I wonder if Leyland changes his mind as the series goes on ?

Your correct in what Ron Darlng said, though Jim Leyland said before the playoffs under no circumstance would JV pitch on three days rest.

My thoughts are, they both only threw 25-30 pitches, I would think they should both be able to come back in a day or two, it's not like they threw 80 pitches.
I would hope both would be able to come back on Sunday, but it doesn't look like Leyland's gonna do that.

Then again, if he's down 2-0 going into game 3, he may have too.

Now this series has the potential to be a high scoring series which is more to the yankees liking, with JV out of the way.

Though the Tigers can keep up with them offensively, the yankees LIVE on the offensive side.

Which team do you guys think have the better 2-4 pitchers ?

I'd like to say the Tigers, but you never know for sure.

HUH??

Of course Verlander will be fine, he's the best pitcher in baseball. What I mean is, the pressure is on the Tigers to win BECAUSE Verlander is pitching.

And, Leyland stated he refused to user Verlander on 3 days rest on top of that....

Nope. More than likely, they threw underneath the stadium as well to stay loose.

I tell ya, play only 148 games and be done with the playoffs in mid-October and extend some careers. But that rant is for anothee day...

Yeah leyland is going to stick to his plan, he won't change and the more he gets asked the crustier his answers get :)

Prince goes yard and chases Kennedy in the process...............Brew Crew up 4-0 end of 7th.

Happy Halloween Everyone!
