Where it's Warm

Things must be getting stressful at the corporate headquarters.

Anybody want to explain this part of the article? I thought the merger was dead?

EchoStar's decision, reportedly driven by Akhavan and Ergen, aligns with a broader restructuring as the company prepares to merge with DIRECTV, announced in 2024 to create a pay-TV giant. The merger, pending regulatory approval, aims to counter streaming's dominance—Sling's 2.14 million subs pale next to Netflix's 300 million.

Bad writing, because above, it said this-

The dismissals come as EchoStar, led by CEO Hamid Akhavan and Chairman Charlie Ergen, navigates forward after a failed merger with DIRECTV and grapples with subscriber losses as it switches focus to becoming a wireless company that also sells TV.

First Quarter Report of 2025 will be released in the next few weeks, the numbers would already be available to Dish/Echostar, which might be one of the reasons why these two people were let go.

maybe they will stop losing subscribers if the stop raising prices for those that are loyal and dont dump them. I still bent about how they have nerve to charge $15 fee for H3 i out right own. if I own the boxes the monthly fee should half of normal price... and how my 250 package use to $79 and now is $120+

Dish does try to get me to switch from att wireless to dish cellular, and my word to them is why would I do that? so i can have $350+ dish bill just for tv and cellular? my dish bill is $200+ as it is it only LESS cause of $50 off month for 12months and $5 off dish movie package dish ($145ish). told them they lucky we still with em and day I cant get those discount is the day I dump them that usual when the supervisor ( cause i only talk to them @ the loyalty department) give me discount to keep us.
