2011 AL Central Thread

I just looked it up and their 10-game winning streak beats their 9-game winning from 1984. They have an opportunity to tie their 11-game winning streak from back in 1968. Hmmm. I have fond memories of winning the World Series in '68 and '84. :)

Today's lineup:

1. Jackson CF
2. Ordonez RF
3. Young LF
4. Cabrera 1st
5. Martinez DH
6. Avila C
7. Peralta SS
8. Rayburn 2nd
9. Inge 3rd

Porcello is pitching.

It would be nice to keep this streak going and gain some cushion between us and the Rangers. We are also only 4.5 games back of the Yankees for best record in the AL. It isn't likely that the Tigers will pass them but it is definitely possible now. If they could pass the Yankees they would have home field advantage in both the ALDS and the ALCS ( if they make it that far).

I know I know I'm just getting greedy now.

Tigers up 14-2. It's like the Sox have packed their bags and have gone on winter vacation. Raburn has been hitting the ball and has 4-hits this evening include a HR. He's now hitting a minimally acceptable .244. Okay, is the White Sox left-fielder (Pierre) that bad of an outfielder or he just having a bad night. The Tigers Jackson would have caught Rayburns HR ball (just over the wall) as well as the one that hit near the top of the wall for a double. I've never never seen a left-fielding jump for the ball after it has already bounced off the wall and headed into center field. Very strange.

The Tigers are just tearing up stuff left and right. Tonights game was almost a repeat of last Sunday.

Tomorrow with Verlander on the mound, I bet they match the 1968 Record of 11 consecutive wins.

The sad thing is that I can see them winning tomorrow, but I don't think they can pull off 2 sweeps in a row on Wednesday :)

Not much else to say they are on role at the right time of the year!!

Verlander is going after win #23 this evening and the Tigers are seeking their 11th straight victory. No Tigers pitcher has won that many games since Joe Coleman compiled a 23-15 record back in 1973, and the Tigers have not won 11 consecutive games since 1968. I sure do miss not being in the area during Pennant Fever.

I don't know about you, but the Tigers are so hot Paws came to visit me today...

I just noticed the Sox vs Tigers game is being played at 2:10 pm ET this afternoon. I also the Tigers have Brad Penny pitching as they go after their 12th straight win. Needless to say, the Tigers are going to need 6 or more runs to win this one.

Article yesterday said he is with a tigers trainer in Fla just throwing up to about 90 feet and he is about where he should be at. No future prognosis given
