2011 AL Central Thread

Would some one PLEASE tell the National ANNOUNCERS how to pronounce Alex Avila's name, he's an ALL STAR and they still don't know how to say his name. Sheeesh .... :o

Problem is they ALL do it, not just this set of announcers.

They just talked about this .... saying that Avila Sr, says it one way and the son says it differently ....

I'm not buying it.

Regardless, the announcers should be pronouncing it the way the PLAYER says it.

This game tells me that they have given up. Can't even watch anymore. Time to sit the majority of the starters and give the kids a chance.

As a Tigers fan, the one thing you don't want to see is Cabrera trying to score on a single with the team up 7-0. It looks like Miguel hurt his foot/leg on the slide into home. Let's just hope it's nothing serious. Anyway, the Tigers are "on fire" hitting anything thrown toward the plate.

Lets hope it continues tomorrow ...
1 pm game btw.

13-hits and we're not even through the 4th inning. We may be batting 'till in the wee-hours of the morning if this continues. Any word on Cabrera from FSD? Also, it's been a half-hours since Scherzer has thrown a pitch. I wonder if he'll be coming back for another inning.

Games not on FSN D tonight, ESPN only.

It will be interesting to see Scherzers NEXT start, to see if tonight propels him to pitch they way he's expected (like tonight) or if it's just because it's the Wh Sox.... as they don't seem to want to be here tonight.

Fwiw, they have a DH tomorrow.

Fortunately theres only 2 more rounds of batting practice for the Tigers tonight.
Not counting the one thier in ....
Currently it's Lions 14, Bears 0 B 6th inning.

Make it 16-0, Cabrera just hit one out to dead center as Comerica about 430 ft.

Yikes! Sixteen runs and twenty-two hits after 6-innings! I almost feel sorry for the Chicago pitcher (rookie) who threw almost 50-pitches because the Sox have a DH tomorrow. Good spot to have Alburquerque pitch. Is he off the DL yet?
