Austin Jackson had been lighting it up, hitting another 2 run HR and 3 hits, so far in the 5th inning, he's had 3 and 4 hit games recently.

When Jackson is going, he the catylist for the offense.

Yep, and it seems like his batting average has jumped from .240 to .255 overnight - a pair of 3 and 4 hit nights will do that. Anyway, the Tigers seem to relax and score runs when Justin is pitching...has to be a lot easier mentally knowing you don't have to put 5 or more runs on the scoreboard to win.

Tigers up 8-0 after the 7th. Does Leyland pull Verlander after this inning or does he let him come back for the 8th since he has only thrown 92 pitches to this point?

Once again Verlander gets the win (21st) coming off a loss from the Tigers #5 slot. Does anyone know our combined W-L record from the #5 spot in our rotation this season(Penny, Coke, others)?

Nope, but I think I heard Verlander has 14 wins after a Tiger loss. Make it 15 now as the Tigers lost yesterday too.

The good news is that Al Alburquerque is scheduled to pitch an inning or two in Toledo tomorrow before rejoining the team. The bad news is Brad Penny is starting tomorrow afternoon (4:10 pm) for the Tigers.

Not around these parts...it's Texas at Boston. What really burns my bisquits is MLB Network broadcast the Texas-Boston game instead of the White Sox at Tigers game. I don't understand why the MLB would show that game over here (further distance, both teams are going to make the playoffs, not a hotly contested division rivaly with playoff implications, and no Verlander). Anyway, I have six football queued-up on the Tivo which I will watch tomorrow afternoon and evening...and I'll pray for a miracle with Penny on the mound.

I am now leaning towards Verlander for the AL MVP.

FWIW, I'm currently waching "The Baseball Show" (it's on every Saturday morning on CSN New England), and the panel- Boston sportswriters and ex-Red Sox utilityman Lou Merloni-all think that Verlander SHOULD be in the lead for the MVP.

Another 3 or 4 hit game wouldn't hurt with Penny pitching this afternoon.

I see Penny is performing down to our low-expectations of him once again. Can we please get rid of this guy or send him down to Toledo? If we make the playoffs I don't want this Bozo pitching for us nor sitting on the bench for that matter. He has done absolutely nothing positive to contribute to the team this season.

I wish that I were being paid 3M per year for sucking...
