2011 AL Central Thread

Phooey! Kelly is 0-2 with his less-than-stellar .230 batting average. I can't help but think how Betemit would have had the key hits and we would be up a run or two right now.

Yep and they had Betemit for him in the bottom of the 8th. He got the RBI to tie the game up. He realizes he needs to bat over Kelly in a clutch situation but he doesn't start him.

We lost because of sloppy play in the 9th and only scoring 1 run with no outs and the bases loaded in the 8th. Going into the game I would have thought it would be Penny's fault.

Well, if you gotta blame someone I'll still blame Penny.

They are few and far between (if available). I'm fine with Betemit...big plus for us.

He said today betimit is not an every day 3b. He likes him platooning basically. My take. He still loves Inge and thinks when he comes up in September he is going to rock. This guy is such an ass. As for tonight penny should have been pulled before that home run. Again leyland.

And you KNEW he was going to give up a HR BEFORE it happened ....
He was into the 7th and had only given up 1 run on 3 hits .....

Man, you should go play the games in Vegas.

When the hell did isay I knew he was going to give up a home run? I simply thought that the way Penny has pitched the last 6 weeks that perhaps they should not have pushed their luck.
Notnsurenwhat I said to make you give such a douche bag rply but I wasn't even talking to you. Eff off!! As I was saying to the other fella this loss could be pu.t on Leyland two times over tonight. Grow your ass up slap!!!!

OOOOOOOOOk then.

If I get to watch Cleveland/Chicago tonight I'll watch the STO feed...so I can hear the Indians announcers can point out all the times the Indians are robbed! :D

The Cleveland TV guys are very fair. They wouldn't have pointed it out unless it was true. Anyone with working eyes could see the injustice by the umps on Tuesday.

Your Cleveland Windians everybody!!!!

Couple that with a Detroit loss and we're 2 back again.

Fausto Carmona is back in his 2007 form. Remember the bug game Sandra? ('07 ALDS) Yep. That Fausto is back. Perfect time for him to get hot. Who needs Sabathia and Lee when you have guys like Carmonoa, Masterson, Jimenez, Huff and Tomlin anchoring the staff?!

OK, last night Billy Butler of the Royals hits a 'home run' against the Yankees that clearly did not clear the line. The umps go to video review, award him the home run, when it should have been a ground rule double.

This is not a subjective case where you say 'the home plate umpire was being a big meany all night', this was a ball absolutely did not cross the line and should not have been a home run....and the Yankees lose by one.

ESPN sportscenter guys are outraged, Baseball Tonight guys are outraged, MLB network guys are outraged, etc., that you have a video review process for this and you still get it wrong. Met fans are calling WFAN this morning outraged at a call that went against the Yankees...that's how bad it is.

But what do I say? Meh. Sometimes you get the breaks, sometimes you don't. I'm not going to whine about it.

Next.
