actually imo marty did a better job with the chargers. but his time has past. norv was never any good. he's still riding on the fact that he has one ring as an offensive coordinator from dallas back in the early 90's. its amazing when you have rivers as your QB and you can't win such a weak division yet you still get ANOTHER chance. rivers is running out of time. looks like he will end up wasting another season.
I'm not a Marty or Norv fan. Marty was an egotistical SoB, and Norv is a wimp. I think Jeff Fisher would be a perfect coach for the Chargers now. They need someone who can light a fire under the defense. Now that Ron Rivera has moved on, the defense is awful.

Sometimes I think Spanos, who owns the Chargers, wants to get them run out of San Diego. The deal for a new stadium has been stalled for years in San Diego, and I'll bet he would jump to LA in a heartbeat if they got their new stadium deal done.

You can too, if you want !

Not so easy when you have so much family here, but we'll have a family of our own...and don't think I haven't been lobbying my husband!!!

I loved, loved, LOVED the three years I spent in the South Bay area of LA! So pretty...

If I could afford to live in California, my first choice would be the San Diego area. Love that city. :)

If you're not on the West side of I5, you might as well be in Arizona. I grew up there, but it's worse every time I go back for a visit.

Do you mean the 5? or the 15? I would say the natural boundaries are more the 15, and then the 805 after they cross near Balboa.

Either way your point is valid...it's not unlike LA East of the 15. I'm a beach person, but some people like the 'Arizona' feel so close to a city, and also to the Pacific.

With the picture PFT is painting of the GM search, Hue's insistence on participating in it, the reports of their awful defensive coordinator being fired and then Raiders denying it... I wouldn't rule out them hiring a GM and then dumping the entire coaching staff even if it's late in the coaching carousel. They need a clean break from the disfunction that has existed there for a decade, with Hue and company there it's obvious to me by the lack of discipline that they will continue to wallow in it.

It doesn't build itself, nor does it maintain and operate itself once it's built.

Yeah, but tell me what you would have supported, refurbishing Arrowhead Stadium,or tearing it down & rebuilding a brand new stadium? Which was more cheaper & cost effective?

I have no idea, but speaking abstractly building a stadium is thousands of jobs, and if it's in a new area then that leads to driving business and job creation. It's not simply a billion dollar hole. I've been to the new Arrowhead, it's amazing, no idea what it was like prior.

I'm not familiar with why just revamping the Metrodome isn't something being considered. Some things can be rehabilitated, some can't, and others are worth the extra effort to find a way (like the revamped Soldier Field).

Exactly with the Metrodome,BC Place Stadium in Vancouver had the same kind of roof as the Metrodome. They refurbished BC Place & replaced its roof with a retractable roof that has cables attached to the roof enclosure like spokes on a wheel. The cables pull the retractable roof out like putting up a sail on a sail boat.just in 360 degree directions. The Vikings can play in TCF Bank Stadium, which by the way can expand their seating from 50,000 seats to 80,000 seats,& I'm very sure can have heating installed in the causeways for wintertime play. The Vikings' ownership is just so myopic about getting a brand new palace, they don't want to see or consider those options that I've given.
