Well the steelers might be in the playoffs but i don't see then going far, they will have to go to Denver if everything stays the way it is, Denver has a good defense, they should be able to get after Ben a lot with their poor O line.

Ben was just hobbling out there last night. He needed to rest his ankle,it didn't help the team having him out there for so long. By that I mean there was no way they were going to win the game. One of the announcers said that the Steelers needed to sit him & was surprised that he was still in the game.
I'm sure they figured if he could go and play well, they would be able to have the #1 spot in the Conference, that was probably the motivation .... It was Tomlin's call (and doctors), Ben said if Tomlin told him to go out there, he was going.
You know,I think that it's possible that the Broncos can defeat the Ravens in the playoffs,I think that they actually could defeat the Patriots, but a "healthy" Steelers team would be another story. Well,I said enough about what I think of the Steelers keeping Ben in the game.
That's the age-old question after a loss: Who gives you a better chance to win?? A backup at 100% (Charlie Batch in this case), or your starter at somewhere less than 100%??
Unless the Ravens lose the last week to the Bengals (Bengals still have a chance for the last spot) and the Steelers win the rest, Rams and Browns ... Steelrs could STILL win the division, which would give them a much needed Bye Week off ...
But thats a Best case scenario.
Interesting, the Steelers could potentially lose BOTH games and still make the playoffs.
They would end up 10-6, and have the tie breakers with Cincy, but I'm not sure how it breaks down with the Jets and Steelers, Jets have Giants and Dolphins left, could potentially split.
I understand the logic of starting him,but once the game went south & there was no longer any hope of a Steeler win.....He played the whole game. Actually,i was surprised when I turned ESPN on at 11:30 last night & saw that it was 3min 44sec left in the 3rd quarter(I woke up from a nap). I didn't find out until later that there were 2 power failures at Candlestick Park.

Ravens win the division, steelers #5 WC and the bungles #6 WC.
True. they were never out of it but at the same time a coach usually has an idea in situations like this if they'll be able to get anything else out of an injured player. if you're not then its best to sit him down. but we don't know what the coach was seeing that he decided not to pull out ben. and really at this point it doesn't matter. i believe the steelers can win their last two games without ben. that be best and ben would be healthier going into the playoffs. easier said than done.Well, at what point were they OUT of it ... it was 6-0 at the half, and 13-3 start of the 4th.
