exactly. thats why winning a superbowl is a TEAM effort. look how many times elway went to a superbowl without winning one until denver finally had more of a complete team. especially that running game with T.D.

That's what I was saying when John Elway teams lost to the New York Giants,Washington Redskins,& San Francisco 49ers,if a strong QB could win the Super Bowl by himself, the Miami Dolphins with Dan Marino would have defeated the 49ers.

Yes, but really the team has rallied BECAUSE of him. They all say it.

He has inspired them to BELIEVE. That is one of those intangibles they were talking about. No way Orton could do that, he just wasn;t that kind of guy.

THe defense was not playing this good before Tebow took over. It's just wild.....

I AGREE it's the team, especially the defense right now, but like I said, there's a fire there now that wasn't there before.
Team chemistry can make all the difference. The Broncos (particularly the defense) seem to respond to Tebow's personality, but not Orton's. And yet the Chiefs were able to respond to Orton's chemistry and beat the Packers.

Marino was facing another 'strong QB' in that game... ;)

Winning the Super Bowl certainly is a team effort...and the QB is a GIGANTIC percentage of the team. For every Trent Dilfer you can bring up who won the Super Bowl, I can bring up dozens of examples of it being about the quarterback.

Look at Kansas City. With Tyler Palko at QB they're one of the worst teams in the league. One week later, with Kyle Orton, they BEAT the best team in the league.

Peyton Manning...need I say more? Without Peyton it doesn't matter how well their offensive line plays.

San Diego's record IS Phillip Rivers. When he plays well, they can beat anybody. When he doesn't...yikes.

Jay Cutler goes out...Chicago's season is over.

That's just this year. There are tons of examples going back to other years.

This is a QB league.

How many SB wins does Jim Kelly and the Bills have ?

I don't know, for sure, but is Kelly in the HOF , or was he not around long enough, I seem to think his career may not have been all that long.

Long enough to win four AFC titles and at least compete in four consecutive SuperBowls.

The Bears lost Matt Forte too. Look what his backup did against the Denver Tebow's late....

No one here is disputing that it is a QB league...

So now with KC and Orton, they are one of the best teams ?

When Rivers doesn't get the O line play, he doesn't play well ...

If the Bears had brought in a TOP QB they would have continued to win.

True, but before the got hurt Forte had a few monster games...and a few where he was not a factor. The QB is ALWAYS THE factor.

Sandra
the qb is ALWAYS a factor as you say but he alone can not get to a super bowl much less win one. there are dozens of cases of great HOF Qb's that spent most of their careers on awful teams. maybe this is one of those things where neither of us is wrong.

correct. once they took out the only two good weapons danny had in that game it was over. we had no running game or defense that year but still got there on danny's arm. then you have the 49ers who were a complete TEAM and dominated for a very long time. takes a team, period.
