LOL good point. People are so quick to defend ex-convicts who were convicted of doing all sorts of bad (and illegal) things, multiple accused (but not convicted) rapists, players who are named in paternity suits all over the country, and a whole bunch of other all-around bad guys.

Some of these people could probably be the same ones who hate Tebow because he has the audacity to bare his religion to the entire world.

Sandra

Kurt Warner was/is someone of very strong faith & nobody really attacked him as bad as they seem to attack Tebow. The same can be said of Drew Brees. Of course both mentioned QBs had their low points(Warner having to bag groceries & play in the AFL,& then the period between playing for the Rams & the Cardinals,& Drew Brees playing for the Chargers & suffering what could have been a career ending shoulder injury before going to the Saints). I think Tebow can be a winner for the Broncos. Someone needs to remind John Elway of when he lined up behind one of his guards instead of the center before a snap during his rookie season.

According to PFT, the Raiders are NOT considering Brett Favre...

...thank God! LOL!

The Raiders have also released Joe Porter to official put Terrell Pryor on the official roster.

What about Carson Palmer? Hes not doing anything in Cincinnati and the Raiders need a qb.

The proper phrasing of that would be 'Cincinnati is not doing anything with him' since he'd be all for being traded, the Bengals just refuse to.

Yep and there in lies the worst owner/gm in sports. :(

...*GULP*...

GOD...PUUUULLLLLEEEEZZZ no!

All kidding aside, according to Jerry McDonald, one of the beat writers for the Raiders stated he spoke to Campbell this morning leaving the Raiders complex and thinks that he could be back in 6 weeks. IF that were the case, they can ride it out with Boller and maybe resign Trent Edwards. In those 6 weeks, they play the Chiefs, Broncos, Chargers, Vikings and Bears....with the Vikings and Chargers on the road. IF...and this a BIG IF...they can go 3-2 in those 5 games...Campbell would be coming back to a 7-4 team STILL in playoff contention....

...trying to look at "the glass half full"....:)

The basic premise is still valid. It's a lot more challenging for west coast teams to travel east and play at 10 AM than it is for east coast teams to travel west and play at any time.

Doesn't make it impossible, of course...just more challenging. Check the overall records of west coast teams traveling east for a 10AM start...

Sandra
That is true, but Jim Harbaugh must have figured something out. The Niners have played three 1 pm ET start games already this year and have won all three. They still have two more remaining (Washington and St. Louis), as well as another east coast trip to play his brother's team on Thanksgiving night....

LOL the Thanksgiving night game is like 5PM San Francisco time...but I wonder if he'll hit his brother's hand after the game as hard as he hit Schwartzie's hand?!?

Sandra

boy has Ditka rubbed off on Harbaugh....

What a game yesterday, My 49ers came out and stuck in there and came away with the victory.

It was nice to see our defense stop Calvin. I was worried on the last drive that they would try and go deep to him. Other than the 41 yard reception, he was shut down.

I still think the Lions are a heck of a team. 5-1 is an amazing start for a team who was 0-16 a few yrs ago. They have talent. Stafford is improving can be a real good one. Suh I think is a nasty player, I didnt see much of Nick Fairley yesterday.

As for SF, Alex Smith came down to earth and was rattled, but came thru on the game winning TD pass.

I am just so excited to be 5-1. I have been a 49ers fan since 1994, I am 27, and Haven't seen much success. So it is nice to see my team looking good. It has been a difficult 10 years or so. From Erickson era(03-04), Nolan/Singletary era(05-10), now to see Harbaugh, who I think is a real HC.

I was reading something about the DHB vs Michael Crabtree when it comes to comparison:

DHB 22 catches....345 yards.... 1 TD
Crabtree 20 catches....209 yards.....0 TD

DHB has turned into a solid and explosive receiver. His work ethic and attitude mean that the improvements in his game are not likely to stop for years to come. These are not words that are ever associated with Michael Crabtree.

There is no way that I would trade DHB for Crabtree right now, and I don't think anyone else in the NFL would either.

Guessing the blogger conveniently excluded Crabtree's previous years because it proves them wrong?

In his 3rd year as a high 1st round draft pick DHB is about to pass his career high of 366 receiving yards in a season, I am not so sure anyone should be jumping for joy yet. Oh, and his QB is hurt.

Both are held back by poor QB play, with their teams ranked 24th (Oakland) and 30th (San Francisco) in passing.

I think given the option, both the Raiders and the 49ers would take a mulligan and would have preferred to take Maclin, Harvin or Britt over either of them rather than pick the greater of two WRs that are maturing much slower than either of their clubs would probably like them to.

But at no time were we talking "mulligan"...we are talking about right now. And right now, DHB is playing as good if not better than Crabtree with absolutely no diva complex or attitude to speak of. Anyone that has watched DHB can see great improvement and confidence...Crabtree has more or less stayed the same....considering the lack of QB play.

Like I just heard someone say, WHEN the west coast teams get BETTER they will come East and Win games.

The 49ers are a good team this year and have won on the East coast. (fwiw, Detroit is NOT east Coast, but EST zone ...)

But why not? We're only 600 miles away from the rest of east coast cities.;):D
