2010 NCAA Football Season

Name some QBs that "did not do much" and are "outstanding NFL QBs". I am curios about your list

Joe Montana QUICKLY comes to mind.

It's a meaningless conversation and Salsa is missing the point anyways. Besides, conversley, there are/were/will be plenty of good college QB's who turn out to be busts in the NFL too. That's not the point though.

The point is that everyone should wait just a tad longer before judging Terrelle Pryor. All college QB's develop at different speeds. Let's just wait and see what TP has in store for us in his Junior year, good, bad or indifferent. That's all.

Why? You afraid you much desired trophy QB might not have the stats to match up? The stats are pretty much similar. So if you put down a QB that has the same stats as your much over hyped QB, on a much better team...then that makes your QB...ah...as bad as you think Jacroy is? LOL!!

Good thing Games aren't won on paper and arguments can't be proven on Wikipedia otherwise we'd all be in for trouble.

Games are won on the field. Stats Schmatts.

And my point from the beginning was....the reason he more than likely stated he would stay is because more than likely everyone told him that unless he is at Ohio State for an education...he would be foolish to even think of coming out of college early. ;) THAT was my 1st post about Pryor. But seeing that you Ohio State fans take ANYTHING that is no bend down worshiping as a personal attack...well, nothing I can do about that.

OK, if I missed that post of yours, I apologize. But your posts that people were responding to are:

ALOT of coaches also say that they would not leave their current coaching job. That statement might also mean that he knows full well that he will more than likely not smell anything better than a 4th or 5th round pick in the NFL draft.

AND

Sorry dude....GREAT athlete....but no where NEAR a good enough passer to be a back up. He will more than likely no where near Tim Tebow stats or winning percentage and Tebow was a 2nd round....and we are talking about arguably the best college QB of ALL time....and a 2nd rounder.

The Ohio State QB that was backing up in Baltimore, Troy Smith is 10 times more QB than this kid will ever be. And unfortunately, all Smith could do is be a backup(though I do think he has never gotten a chance). Do you think if this kid ahd ANY chance of being in the 1st round, he would have made that statement? Even after Tebow won the Heisman twice, they were telling him to stay because he was NOT gonna be a 1st rounder.

And all the OSU fans have been saying in this thread is let's wait and see what happens. Nobody is asking you or anyone to bend down and worship Terrell, and we're not doing that either. That's not fair for you to say.

Your posts DID attack his chances of playing in the NFL, and nobody here is saying Pryor is a bonafide NFL star...or even NFL player. We're just saying let's give him a chance to play his most important college seasons before we decide.

So being All-Big Ten honorable mention means he STUNK??!! That does not say much of your conference IF we use THAT logic.

Um, I hate to interject, but did you know that last year in the Big-10, nine of the eleven Big Ten starting QBs were named all-conference, or honorable mention last year? NINE OF ELEVEN!!!!

This basically shows you just how useless those lists truly are. But go ahead and reference "stats" from Wiki to prove your argument. If you actually watched Brady play like the rest of us Big-10 fans did, you'd see Jimbo's argument.

Yeah, you're not attacking Terrelle much.

STATS!!! Seriously? Oh my goodness. STATS!!! Let's match up stats. Too funny.

Good luck to Joracy this season.

OK I'm not the huge google and wikipedia fan you are, so let's just say if you think there are no good NFL quarterbacks who had not proven anything by the time they were sophomores, we are just going to have to agree to disagree.

Sorry, I didn't make the comment of their being plenty of QBs that were not good in college that are 'outstanding in the NFL". I just wanted you list of plenty. Jimbo stated Brady stunk in college....yet he was Honorable mention Big Ten QB of the year both years he started. I would say he was pretty good.

My comments were based on WHY I think he was staying in college for 4 years. He ain't a NFL propect. And a guy that was the most sought after college QB in ALL of football not being close to being a propect..... For his sake, he will make an AMAZING improvement.

LOL he's probably the one posting this stuff to Wikipedia. ;)

My INITIAL POST stated WHY he more than likely stated he was staying in college. ANY PLAYER coming into college as THE most recruited player in ALL of the US...he is using college as a stepping stone to the NFL. Period. They are not in college to get an education.

Let me ask you something....if you had the most sought after QB in ALL of high school....wouldn't you expect SOMETHING that resembles ALL that hype after 2 seaons?

Actually, it would benefit all of us if Terrelle spends two more seasons in Columbus, so let's hope his NFL tools take two more years to completely develop! ;)

You've already declared Terrelle Pryor's NFL chances dead as a doornail, and you may be right. But you may be wrong. ;)

All we're saying is let's give him (hopefully) two more years with Ohio State before we decide for certain what he will or won't be in the NFL. This entire conversation is ridiculously premature.

And I agree with what you stated above INCLUDING my statement...but you didn't answer the question.

After being the most hyped and sought after QB in all of college football, would you expect him to be SOMEWHERE in the neighborhood of all that hype....?

If that makes you feel good, you go ahead and run with that. I'm just going to choose NOT to agree with your statement that Terrelle Pryor's NFL prospects are dead as a doornail. Neither one of us is going to convince the other of that, or how much Terrelle Pryor hype there SHOULD BE right now, so I'm going to pass on that part of the discussion. It's not quantifiable, it's just a person's opinion.

Here's hoping for a good junior season from Terrelle. Hopefully the scouts have not written him off and will continue watching, and Terrelle will give them something nice to watch.

TP is a year away from being eligible to be drafted. Why would any scout close the book on him just yet?

Not arguing, just wanted to get the facts straight. You came in here and ruffled feathers by making such a bold statement that Miami would steamroll Ohio State in their own stadium and I just wanted to make note of this so I can have a good laugh in September.

I don't believe you will be doing any laughing after that game... and I may be wrong on point spread but I do believe Miami is going to win that game.

Terrelle Pryor said yesterday at Ohio St. media day he intends to stay at O.S.U all 4 years & wants to leave a legacy!

There he goes again.. it's not all about him, he does have a team but he's all talk about what he can do for himself. I've never seen him as a leader, he might be able to hit some good targets with his arm but no leader.

Yeah, scouts close their books all the time after their sophomore season on 6-6 quarterbacks with great mobility who have shown flashes of having a good arm as well. ESPECIALLY the ones who were thrown right into the fire without redshirting their freshman year, and played right from the start.

Tebow Gets a Haircut!

Englewood, CO-- The Denver Broncos took rookie hazing to a new level with the haircut they performed on quarterback Tim Tebow.

It's a tradition with the Broncos that rookies get an often unflattering haircut during training camp. That is in addition to all of the pads they have to carry.

Well, the veterans gave the Heisman Trophy winner a Friar Tuck look, shaving the top of his head and the back, leaving the sides, front and beard.

Teammate LenDale White took the photo and posted it on his Twitter page.
