2010 NCAA Football Season

The battle between the #1 winningest team (Michigan) against #2 (Notre Dame), with a combined 22 National Championships, is always worth watching...regardless off turds like Rich Rodriguez, Ty Willingham and Charlie Weis trying to destroy their programs.

Since Lou Holtz was "retired" (read as: fired) by ND and Carr canned at Michigan, neither school has been worth changing the channel to watch. Just because they "used to be worth watching" does not mean they are worth wasting time to watch now. There are way too many good teams to watch for that.

Huh? Reading comprehension much?

Can't wait to see Princeton play, after all, they won the National Championship in 1869, 1870, 1872, 1873, 1874, 1875, 1877, 1878, etc. In all, Princeton has won 28 national championships. Yale has won 27, then comes Michigan at 22. Yep, that Princeton - Yale game should be a ratings hit, look at the traditional powerhouses they are.

If you want to cite ancient history, at least please get it right.

I agree, history is just that history.

For example, Florida used to be a doormat in the SEC (before the Evil Genius came along). Doesn't mean their games aren't exciting now.

Over the years teams shift and power changes. The only thing constant is that Vandy sucks, though they actually did win the Southern Conference once before the SEC split off.

Buckeyes QB Terrelle Pryor, 'Canes QB Jacory Harris play with contrasting styles

They're both juniors. Both came in with a lot of hype, Pryor as the No. 1 recruit in the 2008 recruiting class, Harris in the same class as the quarterback of the No. 1 high school team in the nation, Miami Northwestern. Both played early, Pryor taking over as a starter four games into his freshman season, Harris splitting time as a freshman, then taking the job as a sophomore.

That's about it. When No. 2 Ohio State plays host to No. 12 Miami on Saturday, no one will be confusing the quarterbacks....

Somehow NBC doesn't agree.

But they play in a far infurior conference
The competition just isn't the same.......

Personally, I wish College didn't play on Fridays as thats a night that should be reserved for High School ball.

Agreed, but not for just the high school ball reason but for others as well! Thursday's and Sats are plenty - I wish more schools played night games or evening games cause in early season in the south is just crazy hot to watch and play games in....football weather is supposed to be cold! :D

Speaking of suck, I wonder how many people watched the Vanderbuilt vs. Northwestern game this weekend?

I wouldn't watch that with your eyes. I have a hard enough time stomaching my Bulldogs playing them every year.

Yeah. Who wants to watch well-coached, highly discplined, highly intelligent athletes compete just for the love of the game.

It was merely an observation of a match-up between two perennial conference cellar-dwellars...although Northwestern has experienced some succes the past few years. I agree that both schools are well-coached, play above-the-board, and continue to stress academics over athletics. It's too bad so many others programs have forgotten this fact. Perhaps the NCAA and the lure of national television and sponsorship dollars are to blame. Personally, I would love to see the NCAA abolish the BCS, go back to playing traditional bowl games, and enforce higher academic standards across-the-board.
