2010 NCAA Football Season

Fwiw, Ohio State plays 4 teams that are currently ranked this year.
Penn State plays 3, Alabama (1), Ohio State (2) and Iowa (9)
Va Tech plays 3 (Ga Tech (15)) Miami (12) already BSU (3)
Boise State played Va Tech (10), Oregon State is not ranked in this particular poll.
So BSU plays only 1 ranked team, in this instance.

Alabama 6
Florida 5

Miami plays 5 teams...(Ohio State, Georgia Tech, VaTech, Pitt and FSU)

Make that 4, as Pitt is no longer ranked.

That's the problem with making schedules years in advance, you never know if a team will remain good or bad.

UGA scheduled Oklahoma St. when they were pretty bad, setting up a warm up game. Little did they know that the Cowboys would improve.
Same as when Ga Tech last scheduled Notre Dame, they didn't know the Irish was suck that year. It was a great victory to start the year, but as the year progressed it was shown to be no big deal.

Ah....then make that 4. No worries....The U will be playing in a BCS bowl this year....regardless of the inital rankings.

Yup, we always debate that later in the year too, the team was ranked when they played, but no longer, does it count as a ranked victory ?
I say Yes as the ranking will continue to change weekly.
Then again, you have several different polls to think about, I think when I posted mine, it was the ESPN poll, which does or does not count, I don't remember if they are assoc. with one or not.

This is ALL subjective to opinions and polls, which REALLY are just Opinions too.

Nope....just want to point out, that Miami plays alot more ranked teams(though, as stated before, initial rankings mean nothing) than the teams ranked ahead of them.

I do not talk for my teams play, I let their play do the talking for them.;)

Wait a minute there .....
I JUST pointed out how many alot of them played ..... Many play 4 a few play 5 and one play 6......
Miami's 5 is NOT a LOT more than many others.
it's the same as some and less than others and more than most.

They will play ALOT more than Boise State, TCU, Oregon, Iowa, Oklahoma and Wisconsin.

Now, that I was corrected that Miami plays 4 ranked teams....that is still twice more than any of those teams listed above.

THAT is why that rankings should matter only after their 7th or preferably, the 8th game.

Georgia also scheduled Colorado when they were decent. Well now not so much. Next year they play Louisville and New Mexico State not the greatest but better than many other conferences or . But in the end a 6-6 team in the SEC, Big Ten and ACC is far better than the MTN West and WAC.

Depends on the team. Utah is better than a lot of SEC teams, and Vanderbilt is worse than a lot of Div-1AA teams.

Worry about Colorado, they had 6 or 7 starting lineman out last year with injuries.:D You'll know more aftere the Buffs play at the Golden Bears this week.
Eastern prejudice=Boise State doesn't play anybody and they aren't in that good of a conference. The last argument I heard like that was about Kansas State. They were the number one worst college football team, the first 100 years. A funny thing happened. They hired a coach named Bill Snyder, who was commited. He was in a tough conference, so he scheduled easy schools for non conference games. The press complained about him scheduling easy non-conference foes. Nobody made the same argument for Ohio State, Wisconsin, Alabama, Virginia Tech, Maryland or any other power conference team East of the Mississippi.:D

Yes they did sell out to Nike, chances are it was just like the Michigan / Ohio State games of late.

Ohio State has been honoring Championship years, they will do it again, thanks to Nike, God I hate Nike, at least they could make some Good looking uniforms for a change.

Both teams wore UGLY uniforms last night and the Buckeye's have had ugly uni's as well for thier "Nike" day.

The one they are wearing this year isn't quite as bad, but nothing like what they wear now days.
I think if they kept the helmet the way they are current day, it would make the Bucks uniform reasonable.

I think the idea of why they designed the uniforms for the reason I already mentioned was enough to say they didn't sell out, Nike stuff is used already on mostly everything that a player wears anyway since it is good stuff so I don't see them selling out for that reason alone. The 30% drop in weight and how they were designed to fit played out very good!
