2010 NCAA Football Season

Penn St.-Alabama...............Florida St.-Oklahoma................Miami-Ohio St........Michigan-Notre Dame

I never recall a day with so many traditional national powers playing each other this early in the season!!

What a Saturday it's gonna be!! :up

Just out of curiosity, which alleged bad call do you think dvrexpander will bitch about the most tomorrow? I say it will be the personal foul call on Boise's last drive. I would've said the no-call pass interference on the Hokies' last play, but Brent and Herb said the refs were right there, and they know best. :D

Well, Va Tech has lived up to my expectations of failing to achieve theirs.

I fail to see why to pollsters keep ranking them so high every year in the preseason, when they always do this.

Tell me about it, he makes Insider looked unbiased. ;)

VA Tech's OWN penalties put them in the hole they were in all by them selves in the first half.

Then again, your gonna have penalties in the first game of the year.

The reversal of the block in the back of the last punt return. I didn't think it was a block in the back, so I'm glad they picked up the flag.

Let me just say this, Tyrod Taylor is a stud, the rest of that offense let the team down. Those running backs are highly overrated.

I liked # 34 for VA Tech, didn't catch his name, thought he ran hard and played tough.

Edit:
That is Ryan Williams

I forgot about the block in the back. When I first saw it I thought it was a bad call. Brent didn't though! He was sure he was right that time too. :D

Tyrod Taylor is something else. That kid has come far! Wish LSU had him. :(

I like that guy too. He's got a little height as well as bulk and runs like a wide receiver. Pretty impressive.

I can support their ranking a lot more than Ohio State and often Penn State. I don't like VT, but give credit for scheduling a tough game early every year.

Just hope all the Boise naysayers learned a lesson last night. Who else in the top 10 has 2 ranked opponents (VT, OreSt) on their out of conference schedule? Now you know why they have a hard time getting top teams to play them.

That makes 2 top 25 teams the WAC and MWC knocked off this weekend - favorites in the ACC and Big East. Also, UNLV and Utah State put in credible performances against 2 more ranked teams, and Fresno State disposed of Cincinnati handily.

Who else in the top 10 plays in a division with Sisterhood of The Blind-like competition?

And PS, barely beating Va-Tech doesn't give Boise St. instant credibility. Va-Tech is consistently overrated year in and year out.

Methinks Boise St is doing everything possible to be competitive. They will be a new member of the Mountain West, which I beleive was number 3 in power ratings last year.:D

Great game.

At the very beginning of the telecast, when the Va Tech band was lined up on the field, the team was waiting in the tunnel to come out, and they started played 'Enter Sandman' and both the band and the fans started jumping...WOW!!!

I got a chill. It was fantastic.

.

That is impressive, but it does not make the overall schedule any (much) better. I know we (bama) play far more ranked schools than that, makes no difference if they are OOC or in conference IMO.

I agree. The fan enthusiasm just isn't the same in the NFL.
