2010 NCAA Football Season

With the way it is now (bowls), then the MNC should only be open to conference champs.
If we has a play off, then at larges can get in, but conference champs should have automatic bids, same as is done with bball, and every other level of football in the NCAA.
If thats the case, then we should take BSU put of the picture ?
Is TCU also in a NON AQ conference ?

No worse than the display OU put on in College Station. How the heck do you not score from the 1 yd line 3 times when you have Demarco Murray and the stable of backs that OU has? The kick holder Nimmo threw the best pass for OU all night and that was dropped in the endzone.
Not apologizing for OU, but d*mn, Texas is worse. Good win for Ok-State over Baylor. Now go beat those ShortHorns!

Yep, they all can beat Boise St. I remember how Oregon beat them the last two years. I remember how Virginia Tech beat them. I remember how Oklahoma beat them. And I also remember how Alabama beat Utah.

.

I would love to see a rematch of VT vs Boise...that could happen still but I don't see it. Now VT is predicted to play Oklahoma St in the Orange bowl, lol it changes week to week doesn't it.
As for teams beating Boise well its week to week competition is what I'm looking at, put them week to week against big teams not just one a year and they won't hang. I'm kinda hoping things stay as they are now to keep Boise from even playing in a BCS bowl game LOL

Same could be said about Virginia Tech. The ACC isn't exactly top tier these days.

How so? I said Conference champs, with Boise St. & TCU will be. I said nothing about being from a BCS conference.

No, TCU is from the Mountain West, which is not a BCS conference.

The ACC gets a bad rep cause each team beats up on each other about the same as the SEC does against each team. The only 2 teams doing anything to help the ACC's rep is VT and Florida St with at least winning their bowl games last year, VT picking apart Tenn whom at the time was #3 in the SEC (both teams nearly beat Alabama). I can't stand up for the ACC too much just from what's happened this year with out of conference game results but its far better than the Big East which is what VT was a part of and a few other conferences. At least for VT they have pretty much dominated the ACC since joining and will likely do so this year. I was hoping to see VT get pulled into the SEC back during conference switching talk but the AD tried so hard to get them into the ACC over the years that I don't see that happening. I honestly believe teams that VT has beaten thus far speaks alot for good wins, GT isn't exactly easy to beat with their option offense they like to run. I'm hoping for VT to play against a damn good team in the Orange Bowl and beat em this go around just like they did against Cincy a few years ago.

Michigan escapes with a 67-65 win over Illinois at the Big House. Bo would be rolling over in his grave after yet another embarrassing defensive display by the Wolverines. :(

Exciting game if you love offense. Not a hint of defense on either team. In truth, this game was proof of how far this once proud team has sank. The only thing worse would have been actually losing this absolute disgusting display of football.

I know Coach Rod escaped any real penalty from the NCAA, but it's time to fire this clown. Between MICHIGAN and the Lions, I'm losing my lunch. Excuse me, I need to wash this taste from my mouth.

they are going to win their conference though, which is what the post said. nothing about being a non aq.

I would never suggest that Texas was better than OU, not in my vocabulary:shh. Being an oSu grad, I am kind of demented, except for Thanksgiving weekend I love OU football as much as OSU. My dad and most of my family went to OU, but I played basketball and OSU was the place for me.

They've barely escaped us the last 3 years. This has got to be the year we serve up Bevo Burgers for everyone!:hungry:

Both teams nearly beat Alabama? Tenn, yes. VT? Not really.

VT yes.. really, VT put up more points against Alabama than any other team including Tenn, Tenn just happened to have had a shot at making a FG to win it yet couldn't get it done.
VT held Bama to 2 FG's early in the 1st quarter then ran the ball back on them 98yards for a TD to go up by 1, Bama held again in the red zone to another FG to finish off the 1st.

after that it went up and down till Bama took a spread in the 4th, but VT scored a total of 24points on them which as I said more than any other team they played including Florida whom was way up there then Texas they played in the NC game!

Scoring the most points against someone does not mean you almost beat them. Yes, Tenn scored fewer points, but that game was in question until the very end. The VT game was not.

Im just saying there were times in the Tenn game that I thought or said, "we just lost". I am sure Tenn fans thought the same in reverse.
In the VT game, the thought never crossed my mind, and I doubt it did many VT fans until a year later :D.

Yes, we should. Otherwise, we are looking to getting tOSU to move to the MAC, so they can schedule easy games and play in the NC game every year. As worthless as I think the current BcS is, it beats opening that can of worms.

Same for TCU, or any other school in a non-BcS conference, they can always move to Div 2 and take chances with a real playoff if they don't like it, until a real playoff comes about.

Like I mentioned before, if BSU and TCU want to be taken seriously, move to a Qualified conference, now is the PERFECT time to pursue such a thing, but instead they go to a conference that is losing all it's Big schools that are going to OTHER conferences.

The thing that burns me the most about BSU is the fact that they have to cry to get attention all the time...
"We can't get anyone to play us .... waaaaah"
Well if they would QUIT asking for beny's like they are God's gift, they would have these problems.

We want you to come here TWICE and PAY us X amount of money, thats BS, if they want to pretend to be a big boy, no more huge pay outs just to play them. They act like the want to be a Big Time school, but then act like they are a MAC school that plays the big boys for money.

Holy....Hey Jimbo, you see the line on the Penn State/Ohio State game...I figured maybe 11 or 12...came out at 17 1/2 yikes.
How about a little wager, would love to see a Pic of you with a Penn State shirt on....

17 1/2 ???

Are you serious ?

Put ALL your money on PSU with the points ....
Bucks never cover the spread in games that are important.

Ohh I'm saying scoring more against them than any other team speaks alot for VT's offense and for about the first 3quarters of the game fans including myself thought we had a chance which was more than I figured to begin with. That Tenn game was weird..almost as weird as that Tenn vs LSU game this year with similar response that should have had a penalty against the other team for Tenn to win. Remember the Alabama player #62 that took his helmet off and threw it to the ground to celebrate before the play was dead and the Bama players picked up the ball to run with it? Well that's a instant penalty for unsportsmanlike that wasn't but should have been called.. same went for LSU players this year but wasn't. I'm sure ya remember and it doesn't really matter now but stuff like this has to stop and the Ref's need to make it stop by throwing flags.

Time 2:03 shows it up close:

Being that it was the first game of the season, could not the Alabama defense have been rusty and unprepared, therefore not a true picture of their ability? Sorta like you said about Virginia Tech losing it's first game to Boise St.?
