2010 NBA Playoffs

Oh, who cares? The Cavs should have wrapped this series up by now. You think they were just dogging it to get a game five at home for the fans?

The Cavs were down big in that game, but nearly came back to steal a win. By contrast, the Lakers didn't come close to coming back from their early deficit on Saturday.

I wouldn't call a near-comeback dogging it. If you want to talk about dogging it, I give you Suns/Blazers game 3.

Celts Miami

Third quarter,
6:18, 46-67

2:16, 62-69

Miami outscores Boston 16-2 in 4 minutes and two seconds. Hitting four straight "3s" helps.

Cavs win series- My postmortem on the Bulls

The Cavaliers have wrapped up their series w/Chicago, putting an end to Cleveland's playoff woes against the Bulls.

HD can do a better job talking about the Cavs then I could, so I'll talk about the Bulls. They lost the series, but the effort they put in at times earned my respect. I don't think it would have had happened with Toronto.

1. I have to give them a lot of credit. Aside from game 4, they played tough and were in the game around the fourth quarter. They showed a lot of heart and toughness. Hanging around with the league's top team at the Q shows me that this team has a bright future.

2. That being said, they have to get more balance. Tonight game's felt like a 5-on-3- Cleveland vs. Rose/Hinrich/Deng. Those three combined for 69 points- the rest scored just 25. It reminded me of Game 1 of Mavs/Spurs- 3 guys can't do it alone. San Antonio figured it out- Chicago will need to.

3. The Bulls have a nice nucleus of players- if they can get one of the prized free-agents, they could perhaps move up in the East and gain a better playoff seeding.

4. What to do with Vinny Del Negro? Aside from game 4, they didn't get stomped. He got maximum effort out of these guys. Should he be retained or not? His situation looks bleak, but you can see how much effort he gets out of his players. Who knows if another coach can get them to play the way they did at times.

5. Rose is a stud. A 26.8 PPG in this series. This guy is on his way to becoming a legit superstar. Right now, he and Rondo look like they may be the best point guards in the East.

Cavs advance, but LeBron seemed to be favoring his right arm a lot!

Even though I'm a Celtics fan, I hope LeBron is okay.

He's the best player in the NBA, and you want to beat the best!

The Celtics were a pleasant surprise in the Heat series(I picked the Heat in 6).

NOW they will have to play flawless basketball for the next two weeks, and their bench play MUST improve if they have ANY hope.

My pick...............Cavs in 6

I got the Heat/Celtics series wrong too.

In games 1, 2, 3, and 5, they looked like the team that we saw from opening night until Christmas Day.

If Shaq's "bulldozer" low post move is legal, then every NBA team should sign an NFL center to play NBA center and plow his way to the hoop.

The good news for the Celtics is that they have four very serviceable "bigs" who have a total of 24 fouls to give at 4/5, and if Scalabrine is healthy, that gives them 30 big body fouls. Unfortunately Perkins and Davis can use theirs up in a hurry.

I felt a lot better with the 4/5 positions during the C's '08 championship run.

P.J. Brown, Big Baby and a healthy Leon Powe were huge coming off the bench, spelling KG and Perk.

Also, James Posey and Eddie House are sorely missed from that championship team!

Umm .. I had fun at Staples yup. And no, I do not have tickets for game 7 ok?????????? LOL

NBA is FANtastic

Phil Jackson must have chewed some butts. Laker defense was incredible last night.

“We got our butts kicked. There’s no way around it,” said Brooks. “They outplayed us from the opening tip to the end of the game.”

Good analysis buddy. :up

I'd also like to console my Chicago friends. Your team represented themselves very well in this series (besides Noah's inflammatory remarks about Cleveland that is).

Anyways, this team never gave up. The Bulls fought until the end. The good news is that they have a very strong, young nucleus (Noah, Deng, Rose). If they can snag a premier power forward in the offseason, they will be a force for years to come.

As for Del Negro, I think he proved his worth as a coach. He got his players to play hard the entire series, all the way to the end. The front office would be wise to iron-out their differences and keep Coach Vin around.

Following the game, LeBron said periodically throughout this series, his right arm would go numb (like it does when it falls asleep). At the end of the game, he had to shoot a free-throw with his left hand. Obviously this is not good. I hope he's ok.

Congratulations to your Celtics Bill! Those savvy vets proved me wrong. Great series win!

See you Saturday. And may it be a great series!

You too, buddy! :)

The Celts will have to bring their AAAA game if they stand a chance.

I'm not gonna lie, the C's bench play concerns me.

Of course I want the Celtics to win, but I will be rooting for the winner of this series to win it all!! Here's to a GREAT series! :up

Games 1 and 2 of the Celts-Cavs series will be at the Q, Saturday and Monday nights at 8:00 ET on TNT.

The rest of the series is TBA, but ABC has a primetime window next Saturday night (May 8). I believe game 4 will be that night.

That would leave game 3 for either Wed. or Thur. night at the Garden...........
