2010-2011 College Bowl Season

NO...the headline stated...Stanford, the #3/4 team in the country, vs. Virginia Tech, #13/14 ranked team in the country. The 2nd best team in the conference was the 3rd ranked team IN THE COUNTRY. I mean by GOD, who cares! OK, if you use THAT logic, then the PAC-10, who have YET to lose a bowl game...is the best conference in the country??!!
Arizona lost to Oklahoma State. Pac10 is 2-1, but who cares what VT's rank was? They were the best team in the ACC. Stanford got blown out in the second half against the best team in the Pac10, but are still a top 5 team. I think that just shows how good the Pac10 is. You have a team that is miles better than the ACC's best, but isn't even close to being the best within their own conference.

But conference teams know each other and beat each other up all the time, so really you cannot say one team is better than a other just because that team that lost to a lesser foe in your conference. It really means NOTHING. Does Alabama, who bitch slapped MSU, better than every team that MSU beat in the Big Ten? I mean Alabama was 5th best team in ALL of the SEC......

First of all your facts are messed up, Arizona lost their bowl game badly.

Second of all, the point is that the #2 team in the Pac-10 bitch-slapped the champion of the ACC. The fact that Va Tech was ranked #14 SUPPORTS the theory that the champion of the ACC wasn't very good.

And the fact that the second best team in the Pac 10 is also the third best team in the country (although Alabama would have something to say about that) also speaks to why the Pac 10 is an elite conference and the ACC is not even close.

Whatever...as someone would say. It mean nothing. That argument about what conference is better is for that conference freaks....

It means nothing but that team beat THAT team on a certain day.

Your argument doesn't work since MSU beat a lowly Michigan team. However, Alabama did bitch slap the CO-BIG10 champ around, so that says something.

Does Alabama, who bitch slapped MSU, .

If you don't like the conference discussion you don't have to participate....but I CAN understand why a fan of an ACC team would WANT to leave conference out of it. ;)

I was actually confused by salsa's post, I won't lie. I thought the MSU he was referring to was Mississippi State

The current bar of winning at least 6 games (allowing up to 6 losses) has discounted any credibility of only good teams playing in "bowl games." If the bar was just a bit higher, at 7 wins, there would not be enough teams to fill all these "bowl games" that Disney has worked so hard to get on ESPN.

Then we could go back to a reasonable number of games !
Right now the Bowls is a Participation bowl, if you played .500 ball well let you go....
Just like when you were young and they didn't keep score, if your team lost in the big game, you still got a trophy.

LMAO!! Barking up the wrong tree chick! I am the #1 anti-"my conference can beat up your conference" person in the entire forum. I do not care for anybody in the conference but The U. And your attempt at a jab was laughable....I WOULD give you an "A" for effort, but my dislike for this stupid "yours is better than mine" conversation is so well known, it was too weak to grade.

The difference here is not much. Ohio State IS catching the ball...Arkansas is not. I have seen neither team really stop each other. I mean this Arkansas kid has almost 180 yards passing in the 1st half. The Hogs aren't running the ball to badly and they have 245 total yards at the half. Ohio State has the BIGGER plays.

This game is a lot closer than it looks.
