2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

I'm hoping a couple of these series goes seven games.

IMO, there's nothing like a game 7 in the Stanley Cup Playoffs! :up

It may have taken 2 games for the Caps to figure us out and now they are scaring me! Rangers need to step up and put a wall around King Henry. It is obvious now that the Caps will not be shooting anymore from the point, so slight adjustment should make this series even more interesting . . . I can see this series going seven

They say a series doesn't start until a team losses at home. Since 2000, the Red Wings are 0-4 in the 3rd game after winning their first games. It may be time to reverse that trend.

GO RED WINGS!!!

Your right they can't skate head to head with the Wings but they are normally a little more physical than the Wings.
Except for when they play the Red Wings, I like the Blue Jackets...a hard-working, hard-hitting, blue-collar like team. While they are a little short on talent, with a couple quality pickups over the summer, along with their playoff experience, and they are a potential Top 4 team in the west next season.

Reminder for the Detroit - Columbus fans that need to get the game on FSN Ohio today on Directv. Today it is on 680 and 680-1 HD. Thanks Reds and Cavs :(

Series is over. They have really disappointed this playoff. I was hoping they would have at least been a little competitive. :(

Wings up 3-0 tonight late in the 3rd.

Wings lead 2-0, will be 3-0 shortly.

Ozzie fighting to preserve his second S.O. in a row.

Columbus PP
Columbus just hit a post and then had a mad scramble in front of the net while the puck laid on the goal line and the D swept it into Ozzie to save the SO for now

PP goal Columbus

Wings up 3-1.

Final ....

Wings lead series, 3-0

Jussi Jokinen scored with 0.2 seconds remaining and the Hurricanes beat the Devils, 4-3.

The series is now tied 2-2.

Sharks get a very important win, edging the Ducks 4-3 in a VERY intense game.

They now trail 2-1, far more manageable than possibly going down 3-0.

Um, I'm pretty sure the Cavs take precedence over the Blue Jackets. Oh well, both were on. Just took a little navigating to find.

The series with Detroit / Columbus can be summarized in three plays that happened midway throught the second period.

#1 Stuart crushes Umberger. - Detroit is playing more physically than Columbus. A real surprise given the Blue Jacket's size difference.

#2 Blue Jacket player seeking reprisal on Cleary ends up in the Red Wing bench - You can't hit what you can't catch.

#3 Two Blue jackets try to rough up Holmstrom behind the Columbus goal, meanwhile the puck slides out front to Zetty who's sitting all alone with a free shot at the goal, and scores. - The frustration of being out-hit and out-skated sets in. GAME and SERIES OVER!

The Blue Jackets may win on Thursday, but it will just be postponing the inevitable. In the playoffs, you have to bring your game up a notch to be competitive. To match up with the Red Wings requires another step up. To beat the Red Wings requires yet another gear. Few teams have this "equipment".

GO RED WINGS!!!
