Few thoughts on this series.

1. This was a very impressive series by the B's. When this series started, I was worried at the possibility that there could be a repeat of the 2002 series between these guys (Also a 1-8 matchup). After all, I have Boston winning the East

2. IMO, the turning point of the series was Chara's bomb in the third period of game 1. Montreal was never the same after that- games 2 and 4 were Boston routs, and Game 3 was not as close as the final score indicated.

3. This is the first time the B's get out of round 1 since 1999.

4. For the first time in a LONG time, Boston Bruin fans will get to see a playoff opponent NOT named the Canadiens. Again, go back to 1999- Carolina Hurricanes.

5. I said this would be a sweep.:D

He's been listening to the media all year, they say the same thing, just like they did last year too.

Wings have No Goaltending and are too old.

Last I remember, Mr. Osgood was lifting the "Stanley Cup " last year ....

They still give him no respect.

Jimbo

When it's all said and done, Osgood may very well find himself in the Hockey Hall Of Fame. Check his numbers some day. He has climbed up the lists of the all-time greats. He's 4th right now in playoff shutouts all-time. He'll probably retire as the all-time winningest goalie in Red Wing history.

Of course we all love him right now. A couple of losses and we'll be screaming for them to put Conklin in.:D The two most popular athletes in Detroit are the Red Wings back-up goalie and the Lion's back-up QB.

Yep, the Comcast Sportsnet announcers were just saying the same thing...

Where do you think he got that from???...;)

Excellent game and big win by Calgary; 6-4 with an empty-netter in a very close game. I still think the Blackhawks are going to pull this one out, but this one may go seven.

Yea we played like crap the third period. Its like we didnt have any gas left in the tank by the time the 3rd came around. Tomorrow is going to be a good game at the UC. Just wish I had tickets. The flames are a pain in the arce to deal with though.

Not me, I've always been a Ozzie supporter, liked him from the first time I saw him.

And once again, the "NHL Network " FAILS to show a game ....
Yep...I have seen exactly one (1) game on NHL Network. Although I do like their nightly recap of the days/nights action, they have turned out to be equally disappointing as the NFL Network. To be honest, I don't see why they don't simulcast Hockey Night in Canada along with a handful of TSN games each week.

THIS is what I don't get.

Again, why doesn't the NHLN show the overfow games like NBA-TV does for the NBA Playoffs?

Not only is Columbus-Detroit not televised nationally, but Carolina-New Jersey (arguably the best series, along with Calgary-Chicago) also isn't.
