2009 Stanley Cup Playoffs

Well, that's pretty much it for the Sharks.

(I know teams have come back from 3-1, but I don't see it happening).

I might as well admit it- San Jose is a team of chokers.

I PICKED this team to win the Cup, and they are a game away from being one-and-done.

Unbelievable.

This really hurts, seeing a team you picked go to the Finals on the verge of elimination, but I am not going to cry and whine like a baby like I probably would have a year ago.

Personally, I don't see how anyone can ever pick San Jose to win anything in the playoffs with their Jekyll and Hyde performances in the off-season: great teams during the regular season, but they disappear come playoff time.

A lot of people said that about the Red Wings before they won it all in 1997. Eventually, there has to be a reward.

Congrats to the many Red Wings fans on here! :up

Once again (and as I've been saying all along) the Red Wings are THE team to beat.

Normally the NHL playoffs 1st round is the screwiest, you just never know what is going to happen...
Many times the lower seed takes out the higher.

Once the 2nd round starts , you generally find that the games go more to the way you expect.
The game intensity gets cranked up another notch and every save is bigger and ever save as well.

NOW the real playoffs start, well next week anyways.

Wings need to watch out for a down game in game one in the next round, due to the long layoff, but it will help Ozzie some as he was hurt in game 3, he should be fine by the time the next game comes around.

Here it comes, suddenly the team is a bunch of CHOKERS ?

SJ is simply a team that has not quite made it to the top yet ... Every team that makes it to the top, has several years in them with not making it before they DO make it.

They have a very good team.
It's not over yet.

I bet you said the same thing about the Wings back in '96, they won it all in '96-'97, but were in the game in '95 and played well in the '96 season as well.
Just because you don't win it , doesn't make you a choker.

The San Jose PP is just plain awful right now. I thought it was coming together last game, but last night from what I saw in the first, they are better off 5 on 5.

Real Classy Blue Jacket fans for the Bottle/Debre throwing last night. :(

Thanks for the congrats fellow Satellite Guys members. Let me be the first to congratulate you on the upcoming win over the pistons!

Here is one Ducks' fan that has FAR from written the Sharks off yet! Especially going back to HP!!!!

Just one playoff game tonight:

NY Rangers [MSG(HD)] at Washington [CSN-DC(HD)]- Game 5- 7:00pm ET
National telecasts: Versus-HD, TSN-HD, RDS-HD

Bill, if the Bruins don't face the Rangers in the next round (Caps would have to come back from a 3-1 deficit starting tonight), what are the possible second-round scenarios for them?

These are the scenarios for the Bruins:

IF the Rangers beat the Caps, then the Bruins will play the Rangers in the next round.

IF Washington comes back against the Rangers AND Carolina beats New Jersey, then the B's will plays the Hurricanes.

IF Washington and New Jersey BOTH win their respective series, then the Bruins will play the Penguins-Flyers winner.

Caps 4, Rangers 0.................3rd period just underway

The Rangers played really bad tonight when I stoped looking at the TV they had ZERO shots on 3 power plays.
If by some act of god they won the east they will be blown out by what ever west team they have to play.
