2009 NBA Playoffs

Mo didn't come out and call a press conference and announce a "guarantee". That would be arrogant, conceded, cocky and the whole bit. Mo was asked a question by a reporter. The reporter posed a question to get this answer out of Mo. What was he supposed to say? He certainly wasn't going to back down. I blame the cheap reporting tactics for trying to bait Mo. This whole thing is being blown way out of proportion.

i agree 100%. this is being made a bigger deal than what it really is. he was asked a question and you can't expect for him to say he thinks they are going to lose. if you go into a game doubting yourself, you're already in trouble before the game has begun. if he decides to refuse to answer the question, the media would've been bitching how williams refused to answer the question and espn dissecting on why he didn't answer the question. every player thinks, feels and says they are going to win a game. you must have confidence to succeed. ;)

What's It Gonna Be Cavs? This is a Rally Cry!

The Cavaliers’ scenario for winning this series is simple. Win both remaining games at home in the Q, and find a way to win one of the two remaining games in Orlando. I would prefer that we get that road win tonight.

For one night, forget about all this talk about Orlando being the better team. I don’t buy it. I’m sorry, call me naive, call me arrogant, call me a homer, it doesn’t bother me. I have watched this Cavalier team all season long, and I know they’re better than this.

It's important to understand that I am not saying that none of this has to do with the matchup. The Magic are a great defensive team in their own right, and part of the Cavaliers offensive problems have stemmed from the way the Magic are defending them. But that will only get you so far. The drop in averages by the Cavs and the increase in averages by the Magic in this series compared to the regular season suggests one thing. One team is extremely hot and another being extremely cold. And in a series where the first 2 games were separated by one point each, you have to believe that margin of error was all the difference in the world for the Cavaliers, who happen to be the cold team in this series.

The Cavaliers love to have their mantras. They are a “no excuses” team. They always take it “one game at a time”. Well, now’s the time to put that into action. Tonight is one game. One night, one chance. All the Cavaliers have to do is become themselves again. Shoot the ball with confidence. Buckle down on defense. Stop making excuses, stop crying to the officials, stop passing up good shots because confidence is lacking, stop settling on offense, stop looking around with that deer in headlights look, and most importantly of all……stop missing wide open shots. The Cavs are better than this, and they know it. At least they used to.

One game to save the season. That’s what tonight represents. A win for the Cavaliers, and The Shot becomes relevant again.

LET'S GO CAVS!!!

Tuesday's Playoff Schedule

Kevin Garnett underwent successful knee surgery today at New England Baptist Hospital.

He had the same surgeon that repaired my ruptured tendon in January, so I know he's in good hands! :D

Best wishes. We all know how good the Celtics are with KG so here's to a speedy recovery.

:eek::eek:

Ouch!

How did that come about?

Playing a pickup basketball game at my gym!

I'm finally close to 100% after going through months of physical therapy.

The one good thing that came out of it: I'm in the best shape I've been in since I got married 20 years ago! :D

The NBA and the ref have assured the Cavs playing more time with with two of the easiest calls going to the Cavs....Lebron dribbling the ball off his foot and tripping over HIS OWN FEET...and Anderson push Howard on the lob....LMAO!! Amazing how bad the calls are....

Game 4 Reaction- Oh, no...

Well, I guess HD can push the panic button now.

IMHO, the #1 reason Orlando won this game mainly was three-point shooting- the saying is that Orlando lives-and-dies by threes. Well, they certainly lived on it tonight with ! (You could also refer to game 6 against Philly or that one game against Sacramento)

(I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but... I think Orlando was fortunate to make so many threes.)

I have seen teams come back from 3-1 deficits before, but... wow- I did NOT see this coming.

Somewhere, David Stern (as well as HD and Cleveland fans) has to be sweating bullets now.

This is NOT anti-Magic- in fact, I have to give props to Orlando, a team that a lot of fans and the media called out for being soft and giving up big leads.

(For the record, I had Orlando getting to the Conference Finals, but I didn't think they would get a 3-1 lead on Cleveland)

They ARE a very resilient team. This team earned each of their three series wins so far

IF they win this series (I will not write a team off until a series is over- until one team gets 4 wins, a team is still in a series), how would they possibly match up against either West representative?

Cleveland = CHOKE. Bologna tech call on Howard. Bologna dive taken by James to get to the foul line. The Cavs are making the Magic look like Champions. Before this series started I honestly thought the Cavs would sweep them.

It's OVAH

I HAVE seen teams blow 3-1 leads- you are jumping to conclusions.

I think it's premature to declare a 3-1 lead lock, stock, and safe.

Besides, as a Lakers fan, you need to focus more on your team and their series- you still are not out of the woods yet against Denver.
