2009 NBA Playoffs

HD do you ever go to watch parties at The Q? I am thinking for the next game in orlando I might go up to the Q we will see though.

I never have, no. I hear they charge an arm and a leg though, plus food and drinks are super expensive. If there is ever a game to decide the Championship though, you better bet your bippy I'll be downtown somewhere.

by the way its funny how people view things, I was listening to Tony Rizzo and Aaron Goldhammer on 850 here in cleveland and they were upset saying that mo had no confidence when he said they had matchup problems with orlando, and NOW people are going to say he is cocky and shouldnt be doing this crap (promising a win) I guess its a darn if you dont darn if you do.

Never said he was cocky....go back and read my comments....I think it's stupid....;)

I guess throwing elbows is ok now, huh? Why would they reverse this? Johnson slung his elbow fiercely at Mo's face. There's not place for that in this game.
That was no flagrant foul. It was incidental contact. Williams needs to man up. I mean how can the guy with the ball be called for a flagrant foul? Defenders are the only ones in position to commit a flagrant foul.

no salsa I am not saying you, I am saying what the national media and everyone else is going to say, also is it stupid? if they didnt believe they are going to win why even play? I mean if you know you are going to lose wouldnt you rather just stay home then get stitches?

If any of you want to join me for tonight's game, I'll be at The Boneyard in Mayfield Heights viewing the game on a 25' screen. (yes, twenty five foot diagonal HD screen!) I have a good feeling about tonight's game.

That's a few blocks away from my house...I wish I could join you, but I promised my son we'd watch the game together tonight. Have fun!

yeah yeah here is what johnson said about it, seems like he feels bad

“I was trying to get to the rim and make a play and I drew a foul,” Johnson said. “Elbows are a part of the game—good and bad. Sometimes it turns out in a bad manner as last night. Elbows are a part of the game, as it is in hockey, as it is in other sports.”

sorry Elbows are not part of the game, even though dwight howard and now johnson are trying to make them a part of the game. I can understand a accidental elbow, but now when you throw your arm back like that.

yeah he didnt mean to do it.

dude had to take his arm and throw it up high to even reach his face.

:up:up

He intended to throw that elbow and he knew Mo was right next to him. I've seen worse, but I thought it was dirty.

No argument from me. They need to step up with the same mojo that they've had all year.
I'm starting to think that all the nervous energy from the Cleveland fans is bringing the Cavs down. I've seen it before. Boston fans were the worst. The Red Sox had plenty of teams capable of going all the way and then they'd get to the playoffs and Boston fans would start with all the curse stuff and the team would implode. Same thing with the Cubs. How does a team good enough to reach the playoffs just start to commit 5 errors a game? It's all the Billy Goat stuff the Cubs fans talk about. I think the Clevland fans put a hex on the Cavs before this series even started. Now it's like watching a a horror movie or a great comedy depending on your perspective. :D

I wish I could disagree with that, but I can't.

Seriously, HOW else do you explain all the really strange events that happened to the Red Sox- when it mattered most (Bucky Dent, Bill Buckner, Aaron Boone, etc., etc., etc.). Curses smurses! The Sox (and us fans) were burdening themselves with their past and CHOKED under the pressure.

Notice that they're turned their whole attitude around AFTER losing Game 3 of the ALCS to the Yankees 19-8 and falling behind 3 games to 0. It's because the pressure was off, and they were playing with house money. What happens? They win four in a row against the Yankees, sweep the 105 win Cardinals in the World Series, and then win the World Series again three years later.

In fact going back to 1986, the Red Sox almost always play better when they're playing with house money.

I'm not saying that's the case with the Cavs. I'm just saying that Anders brings up a very valid point. Carrying the burden of your franchise or city can be a very taxing thing.

That's part of the reason why I'm rooting very hard for the Cavs...........I can relate to loyals fans like HD and Sky. :(

BIGGER difference between say "I expect my team to win...." and "I guarentee we will win....."

I think your missing the point Salsa. Mo didn't come out and call a press conference and announce a "guarantee". That would be arrogant, conceded, cocky and the whole bit. Mo was asked a question by a reporter. The reporter posed a question to get this answer out of Mo. What was he supposed to say? He certainly wasn't going to back down. I blame the cheap reporting tactics for trying to bait Mo. This whole thing is being blown way out of proportion.

Your absolutely correct. I've said it before. Everyone knows about the drought, including the players and coaches. The burden the team has in trying to break the drought is tremendous. They're not only playing for themselves and the fans, but for the entire city. Talk about pressure.
