2008 Pennant Races

Bill,
Are you watching the Sox / Indians game ?
I thought it would be on STO, but I guess not, it is on 307 WGN

edit:
It's now 12-6 Indians

Jimbo

Indians blowing it wide open in the ninth..........Tribe now up, 12-6.

The best part is Hawk Harrelson sounds like he wants to cry! :D

Jimbo,
your Tigers have been beating up on the Rays. Please tell them to rest up because we're gonna need them Monday. :D

Cabrera has turned out to be as good as we all hoped for.

Bill, I'm surprised.

I know he's a bad announcer, but I'm sure you remember his days in Boston.

Was a key contributor to the 'Impossible Dream' of 1967 and led the A.L. in RBI's in 1968, a year when virtually everyone in baseball couldn't hit a creampuff.

BTW, I think that Hawk's not as bad/annoying as the Yankee announcers.

Unless the Twins win AND the White Sox lose tomorrow, there WILL be a makeup game on Monday between the Tigers and ChiSox.

The Hawk was a great announcer when he teamed with Dick Stockton on Red Sox telecasts in the late '70's. He used to be critical of the Red Sox when the need arised and he was valued because of that..................not any more!

Twins WIN, their IN
Twins lose and Sox win, Sox are up by .5 and a loss to the Tigers would make them tied again, then what ?

IF the Twins and the Sox end up tied after Monday, is there a playoff on Tuesday ? or is there another way of breaking the tie ?

The Twins still need the White Sox to lose tomorrow, no matter what they do. If the Twins and White Sox both win tomorrow, the White Sox will play the Tigers on Monday.

If the two are still tied AFTER Monday, they will have a 1 game playoff Tuesday in Chicago.

Thanks,
I have been wondering that all night, I thought the playoffs started on Tuesday, but guess not.

The great thing about the four teams (Twins, White Sox, Mets, and Brewers) that are fighting for their lives tomorrow is this:

They ALL have destiny in their own hands. You couldn't ask for more than that.

Yesterday (Friday) , an 8-1 loss
That would be a game on Tuesday , 3 days rest .... who else do they have , who's day would it be to pitch ?
If someone else pitched and won, Liriono would be ready for game 1

Jimbo

Thanks. Okay, I agree then, Liriano should pitch in a potential sudden death playoff on Tuesday.

Cliff Lee's not pitching of the Indians tomorrow, I bet the Twins are thrilled.
On the other side, C. Zambrano is NOT pitching tomorrow either and a rookie Angel Guzman will pitch instead, I hope a Cubs win/lose will not effect the playoff picture.

I know with Lee not pitching definatly WILL change the playoff chances of some teams.
