2008 Pennant Races

Phillies may not have the pitching. Why are you counting out your Red Sox?

I'm not, BUT I really think this is the Angels year. They have it all: deep starting rotation, deep bullpen, good team speed, but the biggest thing is they've improved their lineup so much over last year with Torii Hunter and Mark Texiera.

Also, the Sox may struggle to score runs with both Lowell and J.D. Drew's status up in the air. The Sox pitching is what will make or break them in this series, IMO.

Right now the Wh. Sox and Twins are tied, once the Sox game is over (barring a big comeback) they will be behind by a half a game, so if the Twins win tomorrow they win the division, no wait thats not right, the Twins would be up by a game and if the both win or lose tomorrow the Sox would play the Tigers on Monday, if the sox win they would be tied ... are they planning to have a playoff game on Tuesday for the Twins and Sox or is there some other scenario that would break the tie ?

I see Twins beating Rays! You heard it here first!

Craig,

I was telling Sabres the other day that:

1. The White Sox are a better team than the Twins

2. The Rays are better than BOTH of them

BUT

I could see the Twins upsetting the Rays ONLY if they stole one of the first two games at The Trop. If TB goes to Minny tied, 1-1 it would put serious pressure on that young team (granted, the Rays have met EVERY challenge they've faced this year) to win a game in, IMO, the toughest ballpark to win a postseason game in the last 30 years. The Metrodome has been a notorious graveyard for would-be pennant hopefuls.

That being said, I would give the White Sox very little chance to beat the Rays.

Cubs & Red Sox :)

What a ratings bonanza that would be :)

I was hoping so badly that the Cubs and Red Sox were going to meet in the World Series a few years back (that was the year with the fan in the stands getting his hands in the way, wasn't it?) because that would have been so awesome with both teams not having won the WS in so long. Anyway, if the Mets don't make it in, I think I'm going to kinda hope the Cubs get in there so they finally get their chance to end that streak.

But yeah, that would be quite a series!!

Indians just went ahead, 9-6 on a Jhonny Peralta bases loaded RBI single.

Tribe still have the bases jammed with one out.
