2008 Pennant Races

I am just saying....the media will use anything to their advantage. Look, you stated it was a bull**** excuse. How does anyone know it is legit or not? He has no reason to lie if he apologized....

Um, Salsa, how can hands to the neck resembling a choke mean anything but that? He knew damn well what he was doing. And he laughed about it afterwards. This a**hole doesn't have an ounce of class, nor does he really care if he pisses other people off with his actions. He says and does what he wants.

Here's a link to his "apology", so you know this isn't just some crazy conspiracy against Ozzie....

Dude.......he was playing around with a group of fans....NO ONE KNOWS what was exchanged between them...and he makes a gesture toward THEM...not the ENTIRE CLEVELAND FAN BASE...but them...an suddenly you are taking it as he meant it toward the entire organization??!!

FROM the article YOU YOURSELF provided a link for:

"It was one lady and six guys sitting next to me, and we were just playing around all game," Guillen said

Perfect example of the LOCAL media embellishing a story....

Hell freezes over!

The Nats and Royals are on national TV ON THE SAME DAY!

The entire nation can witness 100-loss history in all its vinegar glory!

:haha:haha:haha I'm lovin' that vinegar reference you keep bringing up. :up

BTW, the Mariners celebrated with their vinegar jugs the other night. :D

Perfect example of the LOCAL media embellishing a story....

1. The White Sox were in the midst of the last series of the season at Jacob's Field against the Indians.
2. The White Sox had already clinched the AL Central.
3. An Indians loss meant they would be eliminated from the playoffs.
4. The choke sign was delivered during an Indian pitching change because they were losing to the White Sox.
5. The choke sign was delivered to Cleveland fans at their own home stadium!

How the F* else can this be misconstrued?

Oh, that's right, Ozzie said he was just kidding! By him motioning a choke sign, this was clearly a sign of affection instead. Are you kidding me Salsa?! Were you really born yesterday? Come on....

And this story was written by the Associated Press. Call up your boy from the Chicago Sun Times, Jay Mariotti. He was at the game and can attest to these happenings.

OMG...did you even READ your OWN article....??!! At ALL ??!! He had been goofying off with some fans the whole game...did you miss that or CHOSE to miss that? There is no misconstruing anything...he was goofying around with a set of fans he had been BSing with the whole game....:no

Hello? Mcfly? I am sure most of the stadium thought exactly like you. You catch a glimpse of a gesture and IMMEDIATELY assumed it was meant for you....!sadroll

You really need to open up and see the big picture OUTSIDE the confines of Cleveland. I have lived in Miami most of my life...but I know full well that it is not the end all be all of my existance....and not everyone is hating on Miami.

Can we switch topics?

This is taking on a life of its own.

For crying out loud!!!...Who the hell put you in charge???...
You try to make this board your own little personal talk show!!!...Give it a rest, will you???...

If you don't like this topic, don't read it...quite trying to censor it!!!...

NEWSFLASH...This is not your board. You are not a mod. Quit trying to run the place!!!...:shh

I CANNOT BELIEVE they haven't called the Yankees-Red Sox game yet!

It is P-O-U-R-I-N-G out right now with no end in sight.............there's NO WAY they play at Fenway tonight.

When one considers how meaningless this series is for both teams (I still am shocked that this series will have no bearing on October with Boston already in and the Yanks out), I have to agree with you.

I don't know about the Yankees/Red Sox game but I guess the Mets/Marlins game is going to be cancelled. The weather doesn't look good. I think the Phils/Nats game will be played.
I don't think the Mets game tomorrow will be played, either. Probably a doubleheader on Sunday.

I mean think about this. If the Mets game gets rained out tomorrow, then your alternative (If you don't have EI or a Dish or anything) is Yankees/RedSox. You would think that FOX would've had: A) The Mets/Marlins B) The Phils/Nats or C)Cubs/Brewers. What am I going to do with Yankees/RedSox with nothing on the line?

Technically it's not totally meaningless. The Red Sox still have a chance to catch the Rays, but that chance is soooo small it's not even worth it (Rays would have to lose all three to the Tigers AND the Red Sox would have to win three against the Yankees).

Don't count on Yankees-Red Sox tomorrow either, the weather is only going to get worse here on Saturday.

You'll get Nats-Phils or Cubs-Brewers tomorrow on Fox.

That's good and, gee, I don't know, it MAKES SENSE!!! I mean if the Mets are fighting for a wild card/division spot, shouldn't you show the games of importance.

Yankees/Red Sox was FOX saying "that's were the ratings is". I hope w/o that game the ratings are still good.

I read an article that Mets fans were mad at this and I don't blame them.

By Fox choosing Yankees-Red Sox as one of their games, of course that game is going to shown in the NYC metro area.

But what about Mets fans that would rather see (for obvious reasons) either the Phillies game or the Brewers game? I guess I could understand if the Yankees were still alive.........but they're not.

That's what happens when you play second fiddle to the all mighty Yankees. Even when they are not in the playoffs, their games are treated as a big deal.

I'm gonna make a prediction right now:

Twins win division, get swept in ALDS

Three things you can NEVER trust:

1. Marty Schottenheimer in the NFL Playoffs

2. The Twins in the Division Series

3. Alex Rodgiguez in the playoffs

To me, the Twins are doing it with smoke-and-mirrors.

Teams that are jinxed in certain places/stadiums

FSN may get rid of national programming
