X-Box, Playstation, and Wii Game News

Probably not. That doesn't work with other dual analog games (AFAIK) so it likely wouldn't work here. Also, if it did work with that, they'd probably say so since it would just bolster sales of the game.
probably could make it work easily, but that would cut into the revenue stream of people buying the NEW 3ds.

I believe it. The game was available as part of both PS Plus and Games With Gold. I bet they are counting all the people who "purchased" free copies on both services in that number. Both services pay publishers for letting their games be part of those programs so I can so publishers trying to include those downloads in their sales total.

Don't forget about the "Remastered" editions as well. It does seem a little "off" to count the free ones as sales. Yes, technically they are, but I'd also like to see the numbers of people that have actually LAUNCHED those copies of the games.

I'm just surprised also that the original Tomb Raider is not higher in sales, considering how many formats and platforms the game has been released on.

The original version also has (as far as I know) never been free on a mass scale like the reboot has, so I feel it's just a little off for them to blindly declare that the reboot is the best selling Tomb Raider of all time. Still, considering that less than two years ago Square Enix declared the sales of the reboot "disappointing" and actually expected 70% of these lifetimes sales to come in the FIRST MONTH I suppose it is refreshing to see the game did well. I bought the game but sort of zoned out thanks to my ADHD, but I didn't dislike the game. Maybe I'll get back to it eventually, but given how low the franchise got at some points it's good to see a nice revival.

I was googlin' Xbox and OTA last night.
1 comment on the Hauppauge tuner, having owned one in the past, it does run hot so am wondering if this might cause an issue w/ the X1.

If the Xbox One could be used as an OTA DVR this would be a really cool feature. With HDCP and copy rules for cable and satellite programing it makes sense to not allow it to act as a DVR for those services. OTA isn't bound by those same limitations though and they already have integrated guide information so so it doesn't seem like it would take that much work to make it an OTA DVR.

Of course, I think I remember reading that there is only something like 350GB of available space before you install your first game. The OS and other required stuff is taking up the rest of that 500GB drive they advertise. When games are taking up 50GBs there wouldn't be much space left to dedicate to DVR use.

I was at 359 or 369gb after the initial out of the box update.

Despite loving the idea of "snapping" an OTA window to a game... am sure the current tune on the Sony is far superior to the one Xbox will eventually make.

I wonder if this will ever be expanded to allow the cable cards to take actual cable feeds as opposed to just OTA. Or maybe it already does. I'll test it out with my USB TV Tuner that's on my computer when they roll this out to everyone. Not a big deal if it doesn't work, but it would be cool to be able to snap stuff while I'm playing games.

There is no Cable Card slot on the Xbox One as far as I know. It is integrated pretty well, at least with my local cable system but you need some kind of cable box with HDMI output in order to use it. The kinect has an IR blaster built in that allows it to control your cable/satellite box.

I hooked my Tivo to the Xbox One's HDMI input a couple weeks ago and I've been kind of surprised to find that I actually like using the Xbox One's TV features now. I hooked it up for baseball season so I can snap a Tigers game to the side while I play video games.

Back when I first got the Xbox One I tried it out with a Dish for a couple weeks but ended up removing it because I didn't feel that it was adding enough to the TV experience to justify having to turn on the Xbox every time I wanted to watch something. It was causing glitches with my 5.1 audio and it wasn't responding well to my voice. Both of those issues seem to be fixed and the trending TV feature is actually pretty cool.

I didn't mean a "Cable Card" in the true sense of one. I was referring to the Coax to USB tuners, like this. I have one hooked up to my computer that works great, but I'm curious as to whether or not it can handle those if they have cable feeds and not just OTA. I think the fact that you don't get full DVR capabilities is a fair trade off. It should be noted though that if you hook one of those up to a regular PC, you DO get full DVR capabilities, which can then be used by certain programs to stream to various devices.

I really hate it when companies announce a new product, and replace giving a firm launch date with a "coming real soon".
Waking up one morning learning its available wont make me any happier!

Hey folks! Remember a few months ago when Konami secretly released this crazy "demo" called P.T., which translated to "Playable Teaser?" Remember how f*cking awesome it was? Remember how blown away you were to see Norman Reedus (yes, THAT Norman Reedus) at the end of it? Remember how you started salivating when you saw that a new Silent Hill game was coming called "Silent HillS?" Finally, remember how you jumped out of your chair when you read that Guillermo Del Toro and Hideo Kojima was attached to the project!?!?

Well, time to come back to reality, because it looks like the project has been cancelled.................I suppose Konami is allergic to money and success...
