Sony sold off Sony Online Entertainment to an investment firm, they're now going by Daybreak Entertainment. Everquest Next, Planetside, H1Z1, and DC Universe Online are now all possibly coming to Xbox One now that it isn't a 1st party studio.
Hoping the end result is a net positive, their CEO is all smiles on Twitter, insists everything will be the same and if anything they may have more resources.
In bad news, the Sonic Boom games (yes, they made a game called that and no, Guile is not in it) became the lowest selling Sonic game ever, selling only 490K. After seeing reviews like this, I'm not very surprised.
But in good news, Alien: Isolation appears to have wiped the Alien slate clean by moving 1.76 Million copies.
Square Enix is allowing independent companies to pitch ideas for reviving some of their old IPs, and if approved, will allow them to go up for crowdfunding. Seems like an interesting idea, although it's not the best for developers given how much money is taken by SE as well as the crowdfunding platform, but I wouldn't mind seeing another Gex game.
