Windows 8.1 Update 1 released, now available for download

Win8 Mail has never, never, let me(or a few others I know) set up an ISP account as IMAP even. Put them on T-bird and bam- MAIL's in.
I downloaded Thunderbird and haven't looked back
Neither has anyone, that I know, that are on win8. And most install, and set it up, themselves. And some of them are what could be called 'computer illiterate'.

If you're referring to POP3 servers I'll bite. How do you do it? When I tried to create a Windows Mail account on my W8 machine I gave the app my ISP, PenTel Data (ptd.net) and it came back a few seconds later telling me that POP3 mail servers weren't supported. I downloaded Thunderbird and haven't looked back.

No, I was referring to have to log into your microsoft.com account anytime you wanted to use your home PC since your PC login was tied to your MS login. You can still make local accounts on your PC without having to have Microsoft accounts tied to them.
