Which locals?

I currently get locals from Denver, CO which is 350 miles south of my home.

According to the latest Charlie chat both Casper WY which is 140 miles south and Rapid City, SD which is 135 miles east will be new local cities early in 2005.

Will Dish Network give me a choice? Local news and weather from half the distance will certainly be preferable to Denver.

No. You will not get a choice. Dish has to follow the lines drawn by Nielsen Media Research. Why? Because that's what the SHVIA and SHVREA say. The "Significantly viewed" clause may be your saving grace, but I believe that there will be many fewer stations affected by this ruling than people think.
