What is wrong with the Cleveland Indians?

16 in a row against the Rays @ the Jake!!! (Final Score: 12-7)

The Wahoo's are definitely on a roll. They're looking for a series sweep tonight.

The Rays lost their fourth straight for the first time this season. The last time the Rays beat the Indians in Cleveland was on Sept. 29, 2005, ironically against Cliff Lee.

They looked like the friggin' KEYSTONE COPS early on in that one. And the pitcher they brought up? Well...I can't throw stones about bad pitching right now.

On a roll? Maybe for now just a mini-bagel. :p

Just got word I'll be attending the Indians game this Friday to kickoff the only trip the Yankees will make to Jacob's Field this year.

I'll be treated to an evening matchup of Cliff Lee vs. Andy Pettitte

Can't wait!

Rain Delay @ The Jake!

SITUATION: BOTTOM OF THE FOURTH INNING. INDIANS AT BAT. J PERALTA ON FIRST, 1 OUT. CURRENT SCORE: TAMPA BAY 0, CLEVELAND 1

What's the forecasted delay? That storm looked evil.

The worst of it is rolling through now. The forecast is calling for a chance of thunderstorms all day and evening long. However, there is a slight break that appears like it will allow for play to resume around 3PM EST. It may hold off for an hour or two before it gets nasty again around dinner time. (5PM EST).

Go get a coffee with a bagel and lox KCK. It might be a minute....

Tribe completes the 4 game sweep with a 2-1 victory. Bullpen looked good today. What is it with the Rays not being able to win in Cleveland? 17 straight wins. I've never seen anything like it....

Weird indeed. We certainly have the Rays number. 17 in a row against one team is unfathomable.

A couple notes:

This win makes it 4 in a row and 5 of the last 6 for the Tribe. Looks like we may finally be turning the corner. Maybe...

If the first place Tigers lose tonight, the Indians will be only 6.5 games out of first. There's a lot of baseball left, so I can live with that. Baby steps though. One game at a time.

Grady Sizemore was at DH again today. His elbow is continuing to give him problems. This might explain his slow offensive start (.222 batting average). Wedgie is still debating on whether or not to put G-Size on the shelf for 15 days.

This was the first game of the year the Indians won a game where we didn't score 3 runs or more. Prior to today, we were 0-16 when we didn't score at least 3 runs. That is amazing! Hopefully the bullpen is finally getting it together. Raffey Betencourt and Kerry Wood have looked impressive in multiple outings now.

David Dellucci Designated for Assignment

Better late than never, right?

Double D will be sent to AAA C-Bus to make room for Raffa Perez's call-up.

So long DD, to say you've been a disappointment since joining the club would be an understatement. :down

A Bad Weekend

To say that this past weekend has been challenging as a sports fan would be a gigantic understatement.....

To start off, I had tickets to the Indians game on Friday evening. The sun was shining, the weather was cool. A perfect night for a ballgame with temps around 70°F. Then, just before I stepped foot into The Jake, I got a call saying the tarps are being rolled out onto the field. "For what?!", I shouted. Evidently a storm with looming dark clouds was rolling in, and fast. I then decided to take the wife out for a bite and grab a few brews while we waited out the delay. 1.5 hours later the game started. Ugh.

Saturday started with a bark. Literally, my pooch Bailey was barking hysterically at a gigantic chipmunk who was baiting him in the front window at 6am! Ugh. The day ended with friends of mine getting together to watch the Cavs game outside on a gorgeous night on a 110" projector/screen. The food and drinks were impeccable. I can't say the same for the game.

Sunday, I find out that Grady Sizemore is heading to the 15 day-DL, Pronk's degenerating shoulder isn't getting any better, Raffy Betencourt may be heading to the DL, Victor Martinez has a knee issue, more rumors swirling about Mark DeRosa being traded, Fausto Carmona can't seem to regain his 2007 dominant form, etc, etc.....

All of this and I still have 3 more months until Browns football is here. Woe No!

PS, I'm off on an emotional healing this Saturday. The extended familia and I are off on a week long vacation to the lovely Outer Banks of North Carolina. Hoepfully afterwards the storm that still lingers over Clevleand will have subsided somewhat......

Somehow, I don't see that happening. We've been in the eye of a 40 year old hurricane. :(

Have fun in NC!

Betancourt Becomes 8th Indian to hit DL

Rafael Betancourt will spend the foreseeable future on the disabled list with a strained right groin.

Betancourt had been one of the Tribe’s most reliable arms out of the bullpen, racking up 29 strikeouts in 26.2 innings. He is currently second among all American League relievers in appearances and which speaks volumes given the turnover that the team’s bullpen has seen this year. This will also be his first trip to the DL since 2006, though some may argue that he wasn’t right for most of last season.

Your Tribe bullpen now consists of Kerry Wood, Rafael Perez, Tony Sipp, Matt Herges, Luis Vizcaino, Jensen Lewis, Tomo Ohka and Greg Aquino.

Yikes!!!

Grady SizeMo may need Surgery!!

“There is no structural damage to the elbow,” Indians trainer Lonnie Soloff said. “The treatment is rest, or stop doing what caused the symptoms. Unfortunately at the elbow, the thing that causes the soreness is extension.

Sizemore will be reevaluated when he is eligible to come off the disabled list. If the elbow is still sore, he will then have the surgery, which comes with a scheduled recovery time of four to six weeks.
“Closer to six,” Soloff said.”

Seriously, when will the BLEEDING stop?!!!!! :(:(:(
