What is wrong with the Cleveland Indians?

On behalf of all Detroit fans, we would like to thank the Tribe for pricing Wood out of our ballpark.;)

The Tribe is asking alot for DeRo in trade right now. But that price will come down when the trade deadline draws near and they don't want to lose what value he has left on his contract without getting nothing in return.

I would rather see them try and resign DeRo. He's a player who you can build a club around. He can fill any position on the field and is a no-nonsense guy in the clubhouse.

Now that Casey Blake is gone, DeRo's one of my favorites (besides SizeMo of course). It'll be a sad day if they trade him.

I love DeRo as well, but I think he is going to be vastly overpaid in his next contract.....I'll be sorry to see him go, but I think it's the best move for the Tribe to make.

Pavan-OH!

Sorry, HD. You're goombah is a bust. You're stuck with him now. No trade bait there.

My Goombah is beginning to look like fools gold.

Either way, I'm proud of my boys for battling until the last out.

On Carl Pavano...
In the month of May, the veteran righty was as good as any starter in baseball, going 5-1 with a 3.60 ERA in eight starts. Throw in his complete game shutout of the White Sox on June 6th, and he was rolling. Over his last three starts, he has reverted back to his early April form. Lasting just 13.1 innings, Pavano has allowed 15 earned runs on 31 hits (11, 9, and 11). Eric Wedge gave him a few extra days rest with the two off days scheduled last week to let him catch his breath a little. Pavano hadn’t pitched regularly like this in five years and had been battling a stiff neck. The neck hasn’t been an excuse he has used, to his credit. But regardless, these last three outings certainly aren’t helping his trade value.

Something that bugged me last night was as the camera was panning the dugout after he was pulled from the game, Pavano was seen laughing on the bench talking with the guys. Now...he's a vet who's been thru alot and maybe already put the game behind him. But that looked to me like he was a bit aloof about his performance. (Just my take).

You always were more critical of C-Pav than myself. I guess I didn't think anything of it. At least he's getting along with his teammates which is more than he can say in NYC.

Yeah, I guess it's tough to give credit to a guy who waffed his way through a big contract and wined and dined and sped his way through his various injuries in the wee small hours of the morning while chasing poontang.

He was able to come back under the much dimmer lights of a smaller market to see what he could do. He started out fine, I'll give him that. Where he goes from here?:confused:

Let's be fair now. He's trying to turn a new leaf. He was pitching well until these last 3 starts. Let's not crucify him just yet. There is always the possibility that his body isn't used to the wear and tear of a normal ML Season. Something clearly isn't right though. I have a feeling that there is something medically wrong with him, but because of his past, he's keeping quiet about it. Once he learns to fight through that, his natural abilities will take over.

The fact that's he pitching in games, IMO, is a sign of improvement.

Given his history of injuries, he may be turning the corner.

Besides, there's probably less pressure on him in Cleveland than there is in New York.

The Pirates take two out of three from the Cleveland Indians...........hold on...........the Pirates take two out of three from the Cleveland Indians.:neener:neener:neener

Indians vs. Pirates: Game 3 Recap

Typical Cliff Lee performance with the much too frequent result.

Cliffy pitched 7 strong innings and gave up only 2 runs. The problem? Same as it has been all season for the tough-luck lefty. His team failed to give him any run support. That and the bullpen gave up the wining run for the 11th time this season in the final at-bat. Pirates win 3-2.

The Tribe have now lost 8 of their last 9. :(
