After mounting my Winegard and my SG2100, i tried to point the dish to 170 degrees but the dish hit the house. I know with USALS this would be simpler to fix but I'm using a SG2100 which i dont belive supports this. Here's what I'm working with.

location is

Long 75.8
lat 45.3

I have my dish set to 22 and the motor sset to 45. I found nimiq 2 mut was unable to find anything else. Any ideas ?

Almost all motors will work with USALS. Its the receiver that may not do USALS (Diseqc 1.3)

What kind of receiver are you using?

Sometimes they call USALS "Go to X" mode. See if that is in your choices. USALS is the invention of STABS, and perhaps some other motor makers don't want to use STABS moniker for their software system.

You do not HAVE to use your True south satellite when using USALS, ANY satellite close to the top of your arc will work :)

I can get nimiq 1. Should this be a goos starting point? I use a captiveworks 600 receiver. Things dont seem obvious. I was also able to scan some channels from dish network but they are encrypted. So let me see if i got this straight. If I have all my USALS stuff programed into the receiver and I step the motor until i can see nimiq 1, I should them be able to see stuff like galaxy 10?

Nimiq is a DBS satellite so you would need to use a DBS LNBF (Or Invacom QPH-031) DBS satellites are easier to find as they are much stronger than Linear Ku satellites!

I would use any close by Linear satellite, enter the details, the motor/dish assembly will move slightly, point the dish until you see signal quality, lock it down and you are done!

I'm using a Captiveworks 600cw and the motor is a SG2100 by Digipower. The receiver has USALS capabilities, but the motor spec only goes upto disq 1.2 and makes no mention of USALS
