If we, as a country, did what some of you are suggesting, we would be no better than those we are fighting. It's agreed that war is hell. However, we don't have to reach the bottom dweller depths of humanity to win. Our standing in the world would be irrevocably lost if we stooped to the level of inhumanity as evidenced by the aggressors. If you cannot understand that ... God help you! and God bless the United States of America.

I am NOT saying we be like them. I am saying that in general the people of that area do not want any form of peace and the only thing they understand is power. The French Germans Russians and far east in general already hate us (I know its 100% Bush's fault) and this will not change. Buying them a ice cream cone will not change this. They believe letting these people do what they want will bring peace.

This was PROVEN wrong in France last summer with the riots and again now with the cartoons. I so wish I could post the cartoons here so you could see for yourself what people are dieing over.

Just can't say anything at all. because I signed a security agreement, when I retired.

But, having seen what I've seen, I am not worried at all about the Taliban or the now marginalized Mafia. For a long time I believed the government propaganda. But, after I've been there, I KNOW all of my rights and how to deal with gvernment intrusion. Pitty the poor individual citizen, who doesn't. And, hopefully they are NOT targeted.

Profiling, obviously can be misused as in those obviously rediculous assumptions. However, I do agree that profiling is necessary in the war on terror, and that includes the use of neuro linguistic programming techniques, facial action coding systems (FASC) and any other means that will help identify the enemy while still maintaining personal civil rights. Desparate times require desparate measures.

If there is one thing that I have learned on Forums is don't start political arguments. You can't win. The Rep's are brainwashed into thinking they are right and no one is going to tell them different. And the Dem's have exactly the same way of thinking. It's a never ending argument.

The only sane people in this country are the people who DON"T go into a voting booth and pull one lever.

I think elections should go by popular vote. The electoral vote is totally flawed.

The prisoners are bveing excluded from due process, and the genecva convention.

Much is made of dan rather and wether the allegations about bush were true.

CBS fired him over it, but took the better part of a year and 2 million bucks investigating....

if that burden of proof were used on all news we wouldnt know anything.

sometimes leaks are good, just look at watergate.....

I believe the reports of prisoner abuse, heck the military convicted the guards but gave them minimal sentences. the approval of torture came from the president.

Bush even said publically we need it as a weapon...

Our president appears disconnected from reality, wonder if bush is back on the bottle?
