Virtual Joey for Sling

As it would appear the Virtual Joey streams a video via internal LAN and control / menu / etc are handled from the Hopper, what are the chances Dish would create a virtual dish extender for the VIP Series with Sling Adapter?

A couple of months ago, someone posted they had heard about a Joey working with a 922. At the time it seemed interesting, but only a rumor; an Urban Legend almost and the thread died. Could it have been a Joey with custom software (virtual joey) and a custom Sling adapter code to allow an RF remote to bring up the menu etc?

I use Dish Anywhere in my house quite a bit and it works alright much of the time, except for the trick play and the sluggish UI.

I believe those shortcomings were what killed the dish extender, along with the drive for the Hopper. I know there are 2 chances, slim and none, but I can dream.

ViP boxes simply don't have the horsepower, even with the Hopper doing the heavy lifting.

Besides, the Hopper is the future.

VIP's are long in the rear view. Nothing going to be added/enhanced.

A dishanywhere app built into tv's that could work with a slingadapter would be nice. Just use the slingadapter connected to a 722 and sling HD within your network for tv 2.

I use a slingbox 350 and the sling apps built into wdtv boxes to sling HD from my 722 to some other rooms via my internal network, when needed. Then use it instead of dishanywhere when I travel too. Sling is a lot more reliable than dishanywhere.

That's what I'd like. Dish Anywhere on my iPhone works very well, but on my pretty high horsepower PC it is less usable because it's running thru the browser , etc. I could hack an android powered streaming device, load the Dish Anywhere app and would have an 85% solution.

Like I said, wishful thinking.
